Before starting at TRU, Alicia was connected to the university as the Master of Ceremonies at TRU's Music in the Round in 2016, a performer in the AWT production The Best of Everything (2014) and presenter at various Open House sessions. Alicia also spent four seasons as a performer and marketing organizer for the theatrical Special Olympics Fundraiser that featured TRU theatre alumni and curren t students. Alicia graduated from TRU in 2009 with a Bachelor of English Literature and Theatre Arts. Following graduation, she moved to New Zealand where she met her husband. They lived in Australia and travelled extensively before settling here in Kamloops. Above most things in life, Alicia appreciates film, travel, laughter, good friends, CBC 2, the company of her dog and a well-made latte. Alicia most recently wrote and recorded a podcast for Secret City, Western Canada Theatre's yearly High Wire Festival, as well as was a finalist for the 2016 Whistler Writer's Festival comedy shorts competition. She is also the Events Chair and Social Media Coordinator for the Kamloops Film Festival, and when not performing, volunteering or blogging, she writes for Tourism Kamloops and Sun Peaks Independent News. She can also be heard as on-location personality for B-100 and CIFM.

Passionate about mental health support and harm reduction, her professional pathway has primarily focused on supporting and resourcing high-risk populations. A loving mom of two adorable children, Catherine is actively involved in the school community and Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and is always running around to extracurricular and family activities. Catherine enjoys living in the Shuswap, boating, campfires and attending and hosting community events. Holly Winzey's educational pathway began at the University of Toronto, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from University College of the Cariboo, and also has a Master of Education in Counselor Education/School Counseling from the University of Northern BC in Prince George. As a lifelong learner, Holly has many hobbies. She's studied play therapy and psychotherapy, but also makes time for refurbishing vintage furniture, brunching with friends and being a supportive and present mom for her two children. You'll often find Holly in her office, listening to and working with students or possibly in the Starbucks lineup, as she loves a latte. If you see Holly around campus, please say hello.

After working in Facilities, she went directly into ESAL/UPREP before moving to the Faculty of Science as Assistant to the Dean and then to Student Services. Judy graduated from Fairview College in Alberta where she completed the Animal Health Technology program. In her spare time, Judy enjoys water skiing, slo-pitch and golf in the summer. Throughout the winter, she enjoys snowmobiling, skiing, curling and hockey. She and her family moved to Kamloops from Edson, Alberta where they resided for 28 years. During her time with the law firm, she received her Paralegal Diploma from Capilano University. Her legal background is a definite asset to working in the Office of Student Affairs. Marian has been with TRU since 2011. Before joining the Faculty of Student Development Marian was an Instructor in the School of Social Work & Human Service. She was the Program Coordinator for the School's Open Learning programs in 2013/14 and Field Education Coordinator for the Bachelor of Social Work Program in 2014 to 2016. Marian taught both on campus and with Open Learning. Marian loved working with students in their field experiences enjoying observing the shift from student to professional. Additionally Marian has maintained a Private Practice in the community as a registered Social Worker. Her Private Practice work includes community development work related to elder abuse and working with mandated clients in groups and 1 to 1. Marian was a student of the University College of the Cariboo completing a Human Service Certificate (1996) and then a Bachelor of Social Work (1999). Marian obtained a Masters in Social Work from University of British Columbia in 2006 while working full time. She continued her learning completing a Diploma in Family Therapy (2012) and then a Graduate Certificate in Child & Youth Mental Health though TRU Open learning (2012). Pamela Fry

Through her role in Early Alert, Pamela supports the initiatives that act as a safety net for students experiencing personal and academic difficulties, and guides students to appropriate on-campus resources. If a student leaves her office feeling that they've been heard and cared for, Pamela feels like she's had a successful day. Pamela received her BA Hons in Women's Studies and Canadian History from the University of Northern British Columbia and earned her Master's in Canadian History from Dalhousie University. She first came to TRU in 2006 as a sessional instructor in Canadian History. Pamela completed the TESL program here, taught English as a Second Language for many years, and also worked in the TRU Writing Centre. Prior to her role in Early Alert, she was a Coordinator for Women in Trades. In her downtime, the self-described bookworm loves to swim and spend time with her family. She also plays the cello (poorly) and dreams of writing fiction.

Sara has been with TRU since 2011 where she began as a Sessional Instructor in the ESAL Department. She then moved to Coordinator of the Writing Centre from 2012-2015 and Assistant Dean of Students in 2016. Sara completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Sociology and Geography in 1996 and a Bachelor of Education in 1998, both from UBC. She then completed her TESL from TRU in 2011 and returned to UBC for her Masters of Education. In her spare time, Sara enjoys playing hockey, belly dancing, reading, travelling, spending time with her Dachshund, and even cleaning! Before TRU, Sara lived and worked in Dalian, China, at Dalian Maple Leaf International School for 12 years. Shawn Read

Shawn is a senior tenured faculty member in Career and Experiential Learning. For the past 13 years, Shawn has worked as a coordinator in career services and co-operative education programs. Shawn is passionate about experiential learning and as the Bachelor of Business co-op coordinator, he helps students access these opportunities throughout the country. Shawn has been a department chairperson for over seven years and has taken on a pan-campus leadership role to develop policy, professional development, and leadership activities for chairs on campus. Shawn is actively involved in governance and academic programming of the university and has previously been a TRU senator, member of the TRU academic planning and priorities committee and a member of the TRU Open Learning Planning Council that oversee academic policy. Shawn recently completed his term as national president of the Canadian Association for Career Educators and Employers (CACEE). As a leading authority on post-secondary school to career transition, his mission for CACEE was to advance and support on-campus recruitment and career education in Canada. When he is away from TRU, he loves to watch movies and spend time with his family. He has completed a number of long hikes such at the West Coast Trail and the Berg Lake Trail near Mount Robson.

After various co-op positions with Orientation and Transitions, this is Stephanie's first official position within the Faculty of Student Development. Stephanie loves a good farmers market, road trips with friends and reading stories to her nieces. When it came to attending university as an adult learner, Stephanie knew that she wanted more than a degree. To create a comprehensive campus, she jumped at opportunities that would push her far outside of her comfort zone. She was able to plan events, connect with new students, pilot a peer mentor program, meet academics from all over the world, and engage in intercultural education. Stephanie is grateful to be from an immigrant family, as a settler on the lands that fulfill her spiritually, academically and emotionally.
