Alex is a Global Equity Analyst at Landseer Asset Management. Prior to joining Sanlam in February 2021 he was at Smith & Williamson (Evelyn). He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce and is a CFA Charterholder.
Andrew is manager of the Sanlam Active UK Fund and deputy fund manager of the Sanlam Global High Quality Fund. Before joining Sanlam in August 2018, Andrew was a generalist Analyst at Denker Capital in South Africa, a boutique within Sanlam Group, where he was part of a team managing two global unit trusts. He started his analyst career at Collins Stewart in London in 2004 and has worked in the UK, Australia and South Africa. Andrew holds a BA in Value and Policy Studies from Stellenbosch University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (Securities Institute of Australia/FINSIA) and is a CFA Charterholder.
Andrew Groves was one of the Partners at Smith & Williamson that joined Sanlam Investments in February 2021 after the acquisition of the pooled funds business. Andrew was responsible for maintaining relationships with the external shareholders and helping to build a successful sales unit. Previously, he held senior roles at Fortune Asset Management (Close Brothers), and was Head of Sales at Rothschild Asset Management.
Barry is responsible for researching global insurers, focusing mostly on the P&C segment. In addition, he focuses on Latin American financial stocks and assists Denker Capital's global equities team with financials research. He started his investment career as a quantitative analyst at Riscura Solutions in 2012 and left as a product specialist to join our global financial team in 2015. Barry holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Stellenbosch and is a CFA charterholder.
Ben joined Sanlam in February 2023. Prior to Sanlam he worked at Atlantic House Investments, where he was responsible for the distribution of derivatives based funds and structured products. Ben has also held positions at Octopus Investments and WisdomTree.

Ben joined Denker in 2014 after completing his accounting articles at RSM. Ben is responsible for researching the global banking sector, focusing mainly on developed markets including the US, UK, Europe and Japan. In addition, he is responsible for exchanges and debt collectors. Ben is a qualified CA(SA) and holds a B.Comm. Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
Prior to joining Sanlam UK, Bruce spent 21 years at Sanlam Investments in South Africa holding many positions from head of the fixed income and currency dealing desk, fixed income portfolio manager, fixed income hedge fund manager and lastly the CEO of Sanlam Alternative Investments which was a boutique business within the group. Bruce began his career as a bond trader on the open outcry floor at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and spent some time as a bank trader at ING Barings in both Johannesburg and London before joining the Sanlam Group in 1998.

Chris is co-manager of the Sanlam Global Artificial Intelligence Fund , Sanlam North American Fund, and the Sanlam Asia Pacific Artificial Intelligence Fund under a sub-investments management agreement.
He has been a partner at Landseer Asset Management since January 2024. Prior to joining Sanlam as Head of Growth Equities in January 2021, Chris worked at Smith & Williamson (Evelyn) which he joined in May 2015 to manage the Smith & Williamson North American Equity Fund and Smith & Williamson Mid Ocean World Investment Fund. Chris joined Smith & Williamson from Pictet Asset Management where he managed Global and US equities.
Prior to this he managed US equities at Schroders and US and technology equities at Aegon Asset Management. Chris graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA (Hons) in Music, an MMus from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh. Chris also holds the IMC.

Chris was one of the founding partners of the firm back in 2006. Previously he was Head of UK Equities at HSBC Halbis Partners with responsibility for managing £5bn of UK equities. Before this, Chris worked at Schroders for 20 years where he managed a wide range of funds and was involved in the asset allocation process for balanced strategies. Chris was also Director of the Schroders Exempt Property Unit Trust. He holds an MA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford and is qualified as an associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.
Craig joined Denker in 2019 from Avior Capital Markets where he was responsible for research and interacting with clients on the banking sector of the African continent. Craig graduated with a Masters degree in Commerce from the University of Kwazulu-Natal and is CFA charterholder.

Giles is the lead fund manager of the SVS Sanlam European Equity Fund and co-manager of the Sanlam Asia Pacific Artificial Intelligence Fund under a sub-investments management agreement.
He has been a partner at Landseer Asset Management since January 2024. Prior to joining Sanlam in January 2021 he worked as a fund manager at Smith & Williamson (Evelyn) and before that at M&G where he initially managed the European Smaller Companies Fund and then the Pan European Fund. He was promoted to head of European equities in 2007.

As a core member of the Global High Quality Equity Team, Hannah acts as a dedicated product specialist, and leads all aspects of areas surrounding the execution of the investment strategy on the Global Equity Team, including client servicing, order execution, operational oversight, and distribution functions. Hannah's work also includes RFPs and operational management of client segregated portfolios.
Hannah was awarded Investment Week's ‘Young Investment Woman of the Year' 2018. Hannah joined Sanlam in September 2015, having attained both an honours degree and masters degree at Trinity College of Music.
Haydn Franckeiss studied at WITS University and holds a B.Com and B.Acc Degree. He wrote the Board Examination in 1987 and articled with Aitken & Carter.
Haydn spent 2 years with Sappi in the International and Corporate Finance departments. He then joined Liberty Asset Management as an analyst before heading up the Financial Team and managing portfolios.
He joined Gensec Asset Management in 1999 and spent time as Head of Equity, in private equity and Client Services before becoming ALCO portfolio manager.
In his spare time, Haydn enjoys sport and participates in a bit of running and mountain biking.
Jarek Rys - Chief Compliance Officer
John joined Sanlam in February 2021. Prior to this he was Head of Brand & Campaigns at Schroders Personal Wealth responsible for business growth and awareness. John also spent 4 years at Schroders in the UK and SA Intermediary Marketing team, and held marketing roles at FE Fundinfo & Trustnet. He has a degree in History from the University of Southampton and holds PRINCE2 (foundation), IMC, and level 4 CIM qualifications.

Josef is an investment manager within the Sanlam Investments UK Fixed Income team. He manages a short-duration USD credit fund, short duration GBP bond fund and an asset-liability matching solution for an insurance client. He joined the investment management industry in 2015, having started his career at Cameron Hume. His expertise is systematic fixed income portfolio construction and management with focus on quant investment process.
He has a degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Edinburgh, a graduate diploma in mathematics from LSE and a master's degree in financial engineering. Josef has a Certificate in corporate credit analysis issued by Fitch and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2020.
Justin has been with Sanlam UK since January 2001. In his current role, Justin is responsible for asset allocation, manager research and portfolio construction. Justin has a BA (Hons) in Economics and an MSc in Finance. He is a CFA charterholder and holds the IMC.
Louis joined Sanlam in November 2014 having graduated with an MSc in Mathematical Finance at Imperial College London. He holds a first class honours degree in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin and has passed Level III of the CFA Program.
With an undergraduate in Economics and Management Sciences and a master's in Business Administration (Management), Michael entered the asset management industry in 2016. Joining the Sanlam Investments UK team from Liberty Group SA, Michael has worked across various functions within Financial Services, and most recently Sustainability where he currently leverages data to help formulate and implement responsible investment strategies as well as innovative business solutions which focus on making sustainable change happen. Michael has been accepted to study the University of Cambridge (CISL) Sustainable Finance course in 2023.

Mike Pinggera, Head of Multi-Strategy, provides an overview on real asset investments.
Chun Ming (Jimmy) Wong, is a Fixed Income Analyst, previously worked as a Junior Risk and Performance Analyst. In this role, he utilized SQL, Python, and Power BI to enhance data processes, with a particular emphasis on risk management strategies. Highly proficient in quantitative analysis, risk assessment, and data-driven insights. Supported by his background as a Quantitative Risk Analyst at Imperial.

Pieter is head of global equities at Sanlam Investments UK, and is the lead fund manager for the Sanlam Global High Quality Fund and global equities segregated mandates. He has been with Sanlam since September 2012.
He was previously at the Stonehage group from 1999 and managed a global equities fund and global equities mandates whilst serving on various operating boards within the group. Pieter is a chartered accountant and a CFA charterholder.
He is currently an FE Alpha Manager 2024, having held this accolade 5 out of past 6 years.
Prior to joining Sanlam UK in 2018, Shiraaz spent the previous 5 years working in South Africa with Sanlam Private Wealth. He co-managed the Shariah model for his last two years in South Africa.
Shiraaz has completed an economics degree at the University of South Africa, and is a CFA charterholder.
Thomas is manager of the Sanlam International Inflation-Linked Bond Fund, Sanlam Credit Fund, Sanlam Short-Duration Corporate Bond Fund, and Sanlam Fixed Interest Fund. He joined Sanlam in January 2021 from Smith & Williamson (Evelyn) where he had worked since September 2007 and been a member of the Fixed Interest team since January 2009.
At Smith & Williamson he had managed the Global Inflation-Linked Bond Fund and was the co-manager of the Short-Dated Corporate Bond Fund and Fixed Interest Fund. Tom also managed portfolios for a range of institutional clients, including DC and DB pension funds as well as charities and corporates.
He was a Partner at Smith & Williamson Investment Management LLP and a member of a number of internal investment committees, including the Investment Strategy Group and the Direct Investment Group, which oversaw total assets of £21bn. Here Tom served as a dedicated subject matter expert on fixed income and informed the group's exposure to sovereign and IG credit markets.
Tim is co-manager of the Sanlam Global Artificial Intelligence Fund and Sanlam North American Fund under a sub-investments management agreement.
He has been a partner at Landseer Asset Management since January 2024. Tom joined Sanlam in July 2022. Prior to this, he held the position of Sales Director at Axiom Alternative Investments, responsible for the UK distribution of equity, credit and hedge fund strategies. Tom also spent 7 years at Merian Global Investors within their UK distribution team. Tom has a degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and also holds the IMC.

Tom joined Sanlam in November 2021 having graduated from the London School of Economics with a First-Class BSc in Economics.
Warren joined Sanlam in January 2018 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and is responsible for idea generation across equity, fixed income, and alternatives mandates for the team's institutional clients. Warren specialises in hedge fund and alternatives research, driving portfolio construction for the Sanlam Global Fund of Hedge Funds. He has a BSc in Economics and Finance, is a CFA Charterholder, and holds the IMC.
William is deputy fund manager of the Sanlam Global High Quality Fund . Prior to joining in 2009, he was at Brown Shipley managing private client portfolios before moving to Merrill Lynch and getting involved with quasi-intuitional mandates. William holds a degree in Business Administration from Northumbria University, the IMC and has passed Level I of the CFA Program.
Zoe joined Sanlam in October 2021 having graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First-Class Integrated Master's Degree in Chemistry. Zoe also holds the IMC.
