Anne Laws

Anne graduated from Queen's University with a B.A. and a B.Ed. and then, went on to complete her AMI Primary diploma in Toronto in 1984. After working in the classroom for several years, she completed a M. Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (1989). Anne has worked as a guide and as a Principal in Montessori schools in Toronto and Ottawa. She began the Training of Trainers' Programme at the Montessori Training Centre of BC, becoming an Auxiliary Trainer in 2003. She has worked for many years as a trained AMI Primary Consultant, National Examiner and Lecturer. Anne served as a founding member of AMI's Affiliated Society in Canada and as Editor of its member newsletter. She worked several years as Executive Director of Canada's current affiliated society, AMI (Canada). She continues in the role of coordinator of AMI's School Recognition Program in Canada. She joined the Montessori Training Centre of BC in September 2019 to complete the final phase of the Training of Trainers' Programme at the primary level and is now an AMI Primary Trainer. She was recently elected to the Board of AMI (Canada).

Laurie Wilson Forbes

Laurie Wilson Forbes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Anthropology, and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto and an AMI diploma at the Primary Level. Laurie has worked with children 3 to 6 in a Montessori Casa environment for more than 25 years and in 1994 founded the Children's House Montessori School in Port Perry which now welcomes 100 students at the A to I, Primary, and Elementary Levels. Laurie was trained by Renilde Montessori.

Lynn Woodward - Treasurer

Lynn Woodward holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, a diploma in Applied Photography from Sheridan College, and an AMI diploma at the Primary level. Lynn worked with children 3 to 6 in a Montessori Casa prepared environmnet. She is currently an AMI Trainer and the administrator at FME, and is a national examiner, consultant, lecturer and parent educator. Lynn was trained by Renilde Montessori.

Sandra Girlato - President

Sandra Girlato holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, English and fine art history from the University of Toronto, a Master's Degree in Education from Loyola College, as well as an AMI diploma at the Primary level. Sandra worked with children 3 to 6 in a Montessori Casa prepared environment for several years. She is currently the Director of Training of the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto, a past member of the AMI Scientific Pedagogical, Materials and Translation Committees, an AMI examiner, as well as a consultant, lecturer and parent educator. Sandra was trained by Renilde Montessori.
