ROBOTICS

This is a new class at Bark River-Harris. Thus far we have studied simple machines built out of Legos: pulleys, wedges, screws, levers, incline planes, and wheel and axels. Now we are beginning to build more complex machines like cranes. We are using Lego Mindstorm kits, which will help prepare us for the big build in spring by teaching us how to program computers, operate robots , and communicate design specifications concisely to each other. Then in the spring we are building a robot to compete in F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition.
