David Foley is a young Canadian composer of classical music. A graduate of the University of Victoria, MMus, and Wilfrid Laurier University, BMus, David is known for his chamber works, opera and more... David Foley is a composer currently living and working on Treaty 1 territory, whose work playfully engages with the history and performance practices of Western notated music. His works have been performed in Canada and abroad by ensembles such as Trio Spilliaert, Polycoro Chamber Choir, Cuarteto Chroma, Quatuor Bozzini, and FAWN Opera, as part of events such as Festival Osmose, the SALT New Music Festival & Symposium, the Laurier New Music Festival, the University of Victoria New Music & Digital Media Festival, and Cluster New Music & Integrated Arts Festival. He was a selected composer for Continuum Contemporary Music's 2020 HATCH program, a winner of the Turning Point Ensemble's 2015 What's the Score! competition, and the recipient of a special mention from the jury for the 2014..
