DUNDALK HIGH SCHOOL

In the 2013/2014 school year, Dundalk High School moved into a new, LEED certified building. Many components of the new construction have made Dundalk High School greener. All classrooms have motion sensors that automatically turn off the lights after a period of inactivity. The library is in the center of the building and is three stories tall, allowing it to be illuminated primarily by natural light. All the toilets in the building are dual flush. Unfortunately, the move to the new building led to the loss of our native plant garden. We are currently working with students to grow plants for a new native garden that will be planted in May. Blue Water Baltimore has been used a resource to develop our landscaping plan. We continue to run a student recycling program, collecting paper, plastic and aluminum.
