Since 2002, Hammond Middle School has successfully earned its Green School title. We have earned this distinction by having student-run, staff-supported environmental projects. We are motivated to save the Earth and to set an example for our community. Our student-designed projects encourage whole school participation in saving the environment while making it fun. By sponsoring school-wide friendly programs such as Patapsco Riverkeepers, Bay Grasses in Classes, and Governor O'Malley's Explore and Restore your Schoolshed program, we capture the students' and staff's interest and build a generation committed to protecting the environment.
