HYDROPONIES

We are the Hydroponies! As a group we are experimenting with Hydroponics, Aquaponics, and traditional soil based agriculture. In this experiment we compare these three growing methods to see which helps plants grow faster, healthier, and more efficiently. Ultimately, our goal is to increase biodiversity in our school and community by transferring plants such as chives - which attract butterflies - catnip - which attracts other wildlife and repels mosquitoes - and basil - for healthy and organic snacks - into our school garden... For our experiment we are using three plants; basil, chives, and catnip. In our aquaponic system we have six female guppies. Our experiment counts on everyone to participate and use teamwork to make it the best it can be. As a group, along with our amazing mentors, we are all dedicated to putting as much time and effort into this experiment possible.
