Angela Huston joined IRC in 2016. She is part of both the IRC Secretariate and Global Change Hub. She leads praxis development and is active in research and learning initiatives across the organisation. Angela has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from McGill University, completed in close collaboration with the IRC Uganda team. Angela is experienced in dialogue facilitation and inclusive multi-stakeholder methods. She values pragmatism and humour. Angela speaks English, French, and Spanish, and is currently learning Italian and German.

Annika joined IRC in 2019 as a Project Controller. She is responsible for IRC Consult, International Programme, Ethiopia country office and DGIS Programmatic Funding. Annika has a broad experience with different types of donor programmes ranging from Dutch national authorities, European Union, World Bank and private parties. Before IRC, Annika worked with various international organisations such as UNESCO-IHE, HealthNet TPO and Rainforest Alliance (UTZ). She holds an academic degree in Finance from the University of Tampere (Finland). As a Finnish citizen she speaks Finnish fluently and English, Dutch, German and Swedish.

Director of the Growth Hub, Bryony joined IRC in March 2016, changing careers from events management after completing a masters in Environmental Engineering and Project Management at the University of Leeds with a focus on WASH. With previous business development experience and over six years in fundraising at IRC she is currently aiming for chartered fundraiser status through further studies. In any spare time she enjoys travelling, crafting and gardening.

Esther joined the IRC Growth hub in 2019. She has a Masters in International Development from Wageningen University and Research Centre with a specialisation in Rural Development and Sociology. She has a Bachelors in the Liberal Arts and Sciences with a specialisation in International development studies and anthropology from the University College Utrecht. Since completing her Master in 2010, she has worked in the development sector for various organisations and in various countries on WASH, health and education. Prior to IRC, Esther worked for over 4.5 years as an institutional fundraiser for an international NGO.

Maricela Rodriguez

Maricela is a civil engineer with a masters degree in project management. She has nine years of experience in the water and sanitation sector in Honduras. She has worked in the past with the Honduran Tourism Institute. She also worked with the National Service of Aqueducts and Sewers (SANAA) on planning, monitoring, evaluation and control of water and sanitation projects in urban and rural areas of the country. Maricela was hired by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support the strengthening of the National Council for Water and Sanitation (CONASA), where she had the opportunity to participate in the development of the methodology for the establishment of the municipal Commissions of Water and Sanitation (COMAS) in Honduras and the formulation National Policy of the sector.

Melaku Worku

Melaku Worku holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering and is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Rural Development. With over 15 years of experience in rural development, he has gained comprehensive knowledge in water supply, sanitation and hygiene, irrigation development, and environmental protection. Melaku has worked in both governmental and non-governmental organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Lutheran World Federation, COWASH Project, and USAID Transform WASH Project. He has a strong professional background in WASH, having worked with communities at the field level and gaining advocacy skills at the highest government level. Since July 2019, Melaku joined IRC WASH Ethiopia, where he facilitates the Market-Based Sanitation Multi-Stakeholder Platform for USAID Transform WASH. He coordinates efforts to improve market-based sanitation implementation in Ethiopia by bringing together government officials, development partners, and private sector representatives at national and sub-national levels. Currently, Melaku is responsible for coordinating advocacy efforts in the USAID Transform WASH project.

Michael Abera has 18 years of work experience as monitoring and evaluation and data management expert while working with national and international development organizations in WASH, Public Health, and Environment sectors. Michael studied Statistics, Computer Science and Project Management at Addis Ababa university. Michael joined IRC Ethiopia program in 2017 as a program and M&E advisor.

Richard Ward is Manager of IRC Consult. Richard holds an MA (Distinction) in Development and Rights from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a first class degree in Anthropology from University College London (UCL). Richard also holds the PRINCE2 Practitioner project management qualification and an International House Advanced level Certificate in Spanish. As well as managing assignments and proposals for IRC Consult, Richard has experience working with sustainability and service delivery approaches to rural water supply, QDA based research into policy documentation practices and sustainability index tool evaluation.
