Dr Elena Downs

Dr Downs graduated from the University of Queensland in 2009. She worked for Queensland Health for many years including 7 years as an adult and paediatric neurosurgical service registrar throughout Queensland. The birth of her first child prompted her move to General Practice. Ellie returned to Brisbane in 2023 after moving from Cairns where she worked as a GP for 3 years.

Dr Eric van der List

Dr Eric van der List joined Kedron Wavell Medical Centre in 2007. A graduate of the University of Qld Eric has practiced medicine since 1983 at various hospital settings throughout Queensland before commencing general practice in 2004. Eric splits his time between general practice at Kedron Wavell Medical Centre and Deputy Director of Medical Services at Redlands Hospital. Married to Carmel a fellow General Practitioner and a father to three daughters Eric spends his free time between his family and outdoor exercise. Eric enjoys the diverse aspects of general family practice and brings a wealth of medical experience in trauma medicine, orthopaedics and skin excision

Dr Jane Walters

Jane Walters grew up in Brisbane and graduated with first class honours from the University of QLD in 1995. Following graduation Jane spent many years between Cairns and Darwin where she worked in the hospital setting before completing her general practice training in the Northern Territory. Jane has been a General Practitioner for 11 years, 9 of which have been spent in Cairns where she also operated with the Royal Flying Doctor Services women's health program. Jane began working at Kedron Wavell Medical Centre in 2013 and divides her time between General Practice and her family.

Dr Maree Patane

Dr Maree Patane graduated from the University of Queensland in 1984. Maree spent 2 years working at the RBWH, followed by 1 year working as a locum medical officer in hospitals in the UK. When she returned to Australia, she worked at the Repatriation Hospital at Greenslopes before entering General Practice in 1989. She has held fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for 25 years. More recently, Maree worked at a Brisbane CBD practice, and clinics on the Gold Coast, New Farm and Ascot. She has experience working in student health at Griffith University Gold Coast campus and working in sexual and reproductive health for the Family Planning organisation in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Maree enjoys working together with patients to live well at all stages and phases of life. Her areas of particular interest are preventative health care, women's health, and mental health.

Dr Margaret McCarthy

Dr McCarthy completed her medical degree at James Cook University in North Queensland in 2018, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Following her graduation she worked as a Resident Doctor at Redcliffe Hospital for four years completing multiple terms in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine and Emergency Medicine. During this time she completed extra studies in Advanced Paediatric Care and won an award for clinical excellence for an Emergency Medicine Research Audit. She has a keen interest in Preventative Medicine and Family Practice.
