He retired from the US Army in 2013 as a Brigadier General after more than 30 years on active duty. Much of his career was spent as a paratrooper in the 82d Airborne Division, commanding Soldiers at every level, from company through brigade.

Chris Fussell is the Vice Chairman of McChrystal Group. Chris has focused on bringing his Special Operations experience and expertise in cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and decision making with large corporations facing similar challenges. He joined McChrystal Group as a Partner in 2012.
Chris was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy in 1997, and spent the next 15 years on US Navy SEAL Teams, leading SEAL elements in combat zones around the globe. From war-torn Kosovo, to counter-terrorism operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, to highly specialized efforts in the troubled areas of the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa, he experienced and led through the modern evolution of the US military's Special Operations community, first on SEAL Teams Two and Eight, then in the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
Chris was selected to serve as Aide-de-Camp to then-Lieutenant General Stanley McChrystal during General McChrystal's final year commanding the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), where they served for a year together in Iraq. He witnessed first-hand the Special Operations community's transformation into a successful, agile network.
Chris is also a Senior Fellow for National Security at New America, a Washington, DC-based non-partisan think tank dedicated to understanding the next generation of challenges facing the United States. Chris is actively involved in several non-profits dedicated to helping veterans and their families, and holds a seat on the Board of Directors for the Navy SEAL Foundation. Jeff Siegal is an Independent Board Director of McChrystal Group. In this role, he provides counsel on strategy, talent, and investment to the firm's Executive Team. He is a Partner at MK Partners LLC. Previously he was a Partner and founder of Metalmark Capital, a leading private equity investment firm that focuses on the energy, healthcare, and industrials sectors and whose principals managed $7 billion of equity capital across several funds. Prior to joining Metalmark Capital and its predecessor organizations in 2001, Jeff served as the Chief Financial Officer of @stake, a leading cybersecurity engineering firm, and as a Senior Managing Director at Castle Harlan, a private equity investment firm.

John R. Vines is a Partner and the Chief People Officer at McChrystal Group. He mentors client executives globally on leadership and strategy, as well as leads McChrystal Group's human capital growth and development.
John retired from the United States Army in 2007, at the rank of Lieutenant General, after 35 years of active service. He was in continuous command for his last six years of service, including as Commander of the US Army's XVIII Airborne Corps and of Multi-National Corps-Iraq during one of the most violent periods of the US presence in Iraq. In this latter position, he commanded a coalition force consisting of 178,000 soldiers from 27 nations, and oversaw two elections that ratified the Iraqi constitution and selected the permanent government.
Prior to his command of Multi-National Corps-Iraq, John commanded the Combined Joint Task Force 180 Afghanistan, where he commanded a task force of 10,000 US and coalition soldiers, deployed reconstruction teams, and worked closely with the President of Afghanistan. He also commanded the 18,000-strong 82nd Airborne Division. As well, John served as the Chief of the Office of Military Cooperation in Egypt, and served as the Senior Defense Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Following retirement, John was a Department of Defense senior mentor to military commanders prior to deployment to combat zones. At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest Soldier in the US Army on airborne jump status, and was considered a role model and a mentor for younger officers due to his numerous combat commands and hands-on leadership style. At his retirement ceremony, he was given the accolade, "For the next twenty years, the combat arms commanders will look, act and lead like John Vines."

A retired four-star general, Stan is the former commander of US and International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) Afghanistan and the former commander of the nation's premier military counter-terrorism force, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). He is best known for developing and implementing a comprehensive counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan, and for creating a cohesive counter-terrorism organization that revolutionized the interagency operating culture.
Throughout his military career, Stan commanded a number of elite organizations, including the 75th Ranger Regiment. After 9/11 until his retirement in 2010, he spent more than 6 years deployed to combat in a variety of leadership positions. In June 2009, the President of the United States and the Secretary General of NATO appointed him to be the Commander of US Forces Afghanistan and NATO ISAF. His command included more than 150,000 troops from 45 allied countries. On August 1, 2010 he retired from the US Army.
