A recent survey conducted by Dr. Margery Mayer studied the motivation behind entrepreneurs. Why entrepreneurship is the hottest trend today? Who are entrepreneurs and what makes them tick? Here are her findings?... Every entrepreneur in this study was over 30 years old and had created 2 to 4 start-up companies. This survey focused on Silicon Valley, and interesting enough, only one-third of the entrepreneurs had started venture-backed start-ups and two-third were technology companies. While one-third were women entrepreneurs, only one woman had received funding from the local venture capital community, the rest were self-funded or had been awarded grants.
