Aaron Burns

Aaron Burns is the President and Chief Administrative Officer at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, a member hospital of Knoxville-based Covenant Health. Named a Top 100 Community Hospital by Becker's Hospital Review, LeConte Medical Center includes acute care services, women's services, a cancer center, nursing home, and one of the busiest emergency departments in the region. Before being named Chief Administrator in 2022, Burns served as the hospital's vice president of support services. In that role, he assisted LeConte Medical Center in COVID-19 efforts, ensuring the safety of patients of the hospital and the affiliated LeConte Health and Rehabilitation Center. He has had direct leadership responsibilities for multiple departments, has been the hospital's patient safety officer and compliance liaison, has served on numerous committees, and has overseen facility construction, equipment upgrades and remodeling projects. Burns came to Covenant Health from Merit Health in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he served as the assistant chief executive officer. In that role, he oversaw nearly 20 departments, served on various committees, worked on plans for the hospital's growth and expansion, and led tele-health initiatives. Prior to Merit Health, he served as director of operations for Mercy Health Physicians at Mercy-Lourdes in Paducah, Kentucky. In that role, he oversaw eight specialty practices and led 50 medical providers, along with developing growth initiatives for specialized areas such as surgery, mammography and urgent care, among others. Burns received his MBA in healthcare administration from Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, and his bachelor's degree in marketing from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Connie Martin is the President and Chief Administrative Offer at Fort Loudoun Medical Center in Lenoir City, a member hospital of Knoxville-based Covenant Health. Before being named Chief Administrator in 2022, Martin served as Vice President and Chief Support Officer at Methodist Medical Center for 13 years. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the operations of cardiac services, oncology services, laboratory, imaging and food & nutrition services. She previously worked at Fort Loudoun Medical Center from 1982-1991 as laboratory manager, and again from 2004-2009 as director of support services and laboratory. Licensed as a medical laboratory supervisor, Connie also holds a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Tennessee Wesleyan College and a master of science in health systems from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Brent's previous experience includes managerial oversight positions in a variety of medical practice operations. Danny Edsell is the President of Fortress, a wholly owned subsidiary of Covenant Health, as well as the Vice President of Covenant Health Properties. He is responsible for overseeing Fortress Corporation as well as system-wide oversight for Real Estate, Construction, Property Management, Plant Engineering, and Security Services. Edsell has been an employee of Covenant Health since 1975. Prior to her position at Covenant Health, she founded and operated Honey Consulting, Inc., in Chattanooga, a firm offering practical solutions to help healthcare organizations facilitate improvements in performance, business turnarounds, and improving outcomes. As a consultant, Honey served as Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Previous positions include Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Vice President of Clinical Leadership Development and Clinical Operations for Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver, Colorado. Honey received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. She holds a master's degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She holds certifications in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), and she is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Debi Welch - CHRO

Debi Welch joined Covenant Health in September 2015. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President with oversight and responsibility for all Human Resources functions within the system. Accomplishments include centralized new employee orientation, nurse residency program, enhanced tuition reimbursement plan, student loan repayment and the launch of a leadership excellence program. Welch previously served as director, HR Business Partner, for The Knoxville News Sentinel and the Anderson Independent Mail. She was responsible for all human resources activities including employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, labor negotiations, employee development and organizational development for the local newspaper and corporate remote staff. During the course of her career, Welch has designed and implemented training and new employee orientation for a multi-location, $100 million+ company. She has developed HR policies and procedures, served as a quality supervisor, managed recruitment services, overseen safety practices and has served as a consultant and motivational speaker for several area companies. Welch has a degree in human resource development from the University of Tennessee and received the College of Human Ecology Top Graduate Award. She is a senior certified professional in human resources (SPHR-SCP) and in the Society for Human Resources Management. She is a certified facilitator for a variety of training and personal growth programs.

Devan Johnson

Devan Johnson, MHA, was named the president and chief administrative officer of Parkwest Medical Center, a member of Covenant Health, in July 2022. In this role, Johnson manages the overall operations of the hospital, including Peninsula, Parkwest's behavioral services division, and works with the leadership team of Covenant Health on system-wide initiatives. Previously, Johnson served as the chief operating officer for Mercy General Hospital (Dignity Health) in Sacramento, California. He focused on growing key programs such as cardiology and orthopedics, improving hospital quality and safety rankings, strengthening the facility's operational performance, and improving employee engagement and the culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging. His previous leadership roles include serving as the chief operating officer of Deaconess Hospital (Community Health Systems) in Spokane, Washington, and administrative director for St. Luke's Health System in Boise, Idaho. Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia VCU. Doug Campbell - Chief Legal Officer

Doug Campbell joined the health system in 2017 as Covenant Health's General Counsel. His previous position, which he held since 1987, was at the private Knoxville-based firm Wagner, Myers and Sanger, where served as counsel for Covenant Health, among other organizations. A longtime healthcare attorney, Campbell's expertise spans the continuum of health law, including health care joint ventures; development, construction and licensure of health care facilities; corporate and organizational governance; medical staff credentialing, and regulatory compliance involving analysis of federal laws and laws affecting nonprofit entities, among other areas. Campbell received his bachelor of science and juris doctor degrees with highest honors from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of The Tennessee State Bar, Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Dr. Patti Ketterman

Dr. Patti Ketterman, DNSc, RN, LNHA, NEA, BC, serves as the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, Tennessee. Since joining Covenant Health in 2012, she has held several leadership roles at member hospitals Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville and LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville. Ketterman also received a 2017 gubernatorial appointment to the Tennessee Health Care Facilities Board of Directors. First a registered nurse and then Chief Nursing Officer, Ketterman was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Newport Medical Center and served as the facility's licensed nursing home administrator from 2006 to 2011. During her tenure, the hospital received the prestigious Reuters Top 100 Rural Hospital for two consecutive years. Ketterman earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City and a master's degree in public health with an emphasis in administration and planning from the University of Tennessee. She earned a doctorate in nursing science from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She is a Certified Nursing Administrator Advanced through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Gordon Lintz

Gordon Lintz serves as the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System joined Covenant Health in 2010, and Gordon Lintz was named Chief Administrator in 2012. Lintz joined Covenant Health in 2008 as administrator of the health system's Thompson Cancer Survival Center. He simultaneously oversaw Covenant HomeCare (including hospice services and durable medical equipment services) and Covenant Senior Services. During that time, he also coordinated research conducted within Covenant Health, including Thompson's clinical trials, and ensured compliance with federal and billing regulations. Prior to joining Covenant Health, Lintz spent more than 20 years at Baptist Memorial Healthcare in Memphis, working in administrative leadership and nursing roles, and as administrator of a skilled nursing facility and Baptist Centers for Cancer Care. Lintz studied business at Wake Forest University, and after 10+ years in healthcare administration, he went to nursing school. After becoming a practicing nurse, Lintz was an administrator by day and a nurse in post-anesthesia care and intensive care several evenings a week. This strategic step gave him a unique level of knowledge and experience in patient care and hospital operations. Lintz was the 2017 chairman of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce, serves an honorary trustee of Walters State Community College, participates on the board of several local non-profits and leads the service committee of his local Rotary Club.

Jason Pilant

Jason Pilant currently serves as the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Roane Medical Center, a member hospital of Covenant Health. Prior to that, he was the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Roane Medical Center. Jason began his career in medical device sales and manufacturing before moving into hospital contract management. He joined Covenant Health in 2007 and has worked in various project management and operations roles for the health system, at LeConte Medical Center, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, and Roane Medical Center. An East Knoxville native, Pilant earned his bachelor's degree in nutrition and food science from the University of Tennessee and his master's degree in business with a concentration in IT project management from Lincoln Memorial University. Jeremy Biggs

In this role, he is responsible for enhancing the health system's brand and reputation as the first and best choice for healthcare for East Tennesseans. Floyd most recently served as president and chief marketing officer of KellycoDetectors.com, leading the marketing effort to more than double the company's customer base in just two years. Floyd also founded Lirio/Finworx, a healthcare business development company specializing in customized communication tools that use behavioral science and artificial intelligence to motivate healthy behaviors in individuals and population groups. His previous marketing leadership roles include BPV Capital Management, Bluegill Creative, Eluminaire, and Holrob Commercial Realty. Kevin Miller

Liz Clary, MHA, BSN, RN, has served as the vice president of behavioral health at Peninsula, a division of Parkwest Medical Center, since 2014. Clary is a dedicated health care professional and servant leader who is passionate about developing and promoting behavioral and addiction services within all East Tennessee communities. Clary is responsible for the operations and management of Peninsula Hospital's 90-inpatient bed hospital, four outpatient clinics that service Blount, Knox, Loudon and Sevier counties, a senior behavioral unit located in Parkwest Medical Center and the psychiatric consult services that provide in person and virtual psychiatric visits across Covenant Health. She aligns her team to achieve goals and core outcomes for behavioral services under pillars of quality, people, growth, service and finance. In her role, Clary is responsible for the strategic planning and development for inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care services and how the programs respond to the mental and behavioral health needs within the Covenant Health system and East Tennessee region. Previously, she served as the director of patient care services for Peninsula. Prior to that, she was a practicing nurse and cardiac manager at Methodist Medical Center, a member of Covenant Health. Clary has been named a "Health Care Hero" by Knox.Biz and is a 2013 recipient of the Buscetta Leadership Award, an internal award given to an outstanding Covenant Health manager who personifies leadership excellence. She received her master's in healthcare administration from the College of St. Francis in Juliet, Illinois, where she graduated with academic distinction. Johnson previously served as Senior Vice President and division head of United Surgical Partners International, Inc., an ambulatory healthcare provider which owns and operates ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care centers and imaging centers which serves 9,000 physicians and partners with over 50 not-for-profit health systems nationwide. Prior to joining USPI, Johnson was executive director of Knoxville-based Tennessee Orthopaedic Clinics, where he directed the merger of four physician groups into one of the largest orthopedic groups in East Tennessee. Johnson earned a degree in business administration at Auburn University.

Mandy Halford

Mandy Halford, MD, serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Covenant Health. Dr. Halford is an innovative and passionate Physician Executive who provides medical leadership across the health care delivery system and oversees clinical informatics, virtual care, consumerism and digital advances. Dr. Halford has served in many health care leadership roles throughout her career. Prior to being named SVP in 2021, she served as Vice President and CMIO for five years and system medical director of clinical documentation and informatics for two years. Before joining the Covenant Health Senior Leadership team, she served as Chief Medical Officer at Cumberland Medical Center, one of Covenant Health's member hospitals. Mark Browne, MD, MMM, FACPE, CPE, has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Covenant Health since 2012. In addition to his leadership in clinical quality and safety for the health system, Dr. Browne is responsible for overseeing medical staff affairs, credentialing and medical staff quality, and for coordination of service line activities for the Covenant Health system. Dr. Browne is a nationally recognized speaker on issues related to quality, healthcare reform and physician integration. He previously was a principal at Pershing, Yoakley and Associates, where he provided expertise to health systems on effective integration of clinical quality in healthcare operations. Dr. Browne previously served as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Trover Regional Medical Center in western Kentucky and at Foote Memorial Hospital in southwest Michigan. He was a physician executive with Middletown Regional Hospital in southwest Ohio. He is past president and chief operating officer of Southwestern Ohio Family Medicine, a network of primary care physicians. Dr. Browne is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He earned his doctorate in medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and holds a master's degree in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University at the Heinz School of Public Policy in Pittsburgh. Mike Belbeck

Prior to joining Methodist Medical Center and Covenant Health, Belbeck served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Holy Spirit Health System in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. He also served in numerous operational roles as a vice president of Baptist Health South Florida in Miami for 10 years. Belbeck holds a bachelor's degree and master's degrees in business administration and health science from the University of Florida. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mike Ward is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Covenant Health. Prior to joining Covenant in 2003, he was with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) for 23 years and was assistant vice president and director of systems integration, managing software development teams in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and McLean, Virginia. He served a variety of industries/agencies in both the private and public sectors. Ward also was a systems manager for DeRoyal Industries for two years. He currently serves as president of the board of the East Tennessee Health Information Network (etHIN), a health information exchange and regional health information organization (HIE/RHIO) which serves a 17-county region of east Tennessee. Ward is a certified healthcare chief information officer and a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). He currently serves on the board of the Tennessee chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He previously served on the board of the Tennessee chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Ward received a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee.

Monty Scott

Since 2012, Monty Scott has served as the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Covenant Medical Group, Covenant Health's affiliated physician practices. He is responsible for overseeing multi-specialty physician practice operations for 250+ providers in 68 locations. Scott received a bachelor's degree in biology and MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is a member of the Medical Group Management Association.

Patrick Birmingham

Patrick Birmingham serves as Covenant Health's Vice President of Philanthropy and Government Relations, a role he has held since November 2017. Before joining Covenant Health, Birmingham spent 35 years in media/newspaper publishing, coming to Tennessee as the president and publisher of the Knoxville News Sentinel in 2009. Prior to Knoxville, Birmingham was the president and publisher of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times in Corpus Christi, Texas. Birmingham leads the health system's Office of Philanthropy's comprehensive development program, including major gifts, planned giving, annual gift campaigns and special event fund raising. The Office of Philanthropy manages five foundations that raise funds for Covenant Health facilities and programs: Fort Sanders Foundation and Thompson Cancer Survival Center Foundation in Knoxville, Methodist Hospital Foundation in Oak Ridge, Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Foundation in Morristown and the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation in Sevierville. Birmingham is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with government officials and legislative representatives along with helping align the health system's policies and plans with government laws, regulations and standards.

Randy Davis

Randy Davis, MBA, FACHE, is the president and chief administrative officer of Cumberland Medical Center located in Crossville, Tennessee, a member of Covenant Health. Davis will manage the overall operations of the hospital and work with the leadership team of Covenant Health on system-wide initiatives. Most recently, Davis served as the chief executive officer for TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee. There, Davis was responsible for implementing the vision and strategic initiatives within the HCA TriStar Division. Under his leadership, the hospital was recognized for numerous quality and community outreach awards. Randy Davis has held several administrative positions for health-related organizations. He has served on boards and committees for healthcare and civic organizations and has received recognitions for his leadership and service. In addition to more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Davis served in the Alabama National Guard supporting its 20th Special Forces Group. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in healthcare from Lipscomb University. Davis has been named a 2019 ACHE Rural Healthcare Executive and was the recipient of the 2019 Tennessee Hospital Association Small and Rural Leadership Award. He serves on The Joint Commission Hospital Advisory Board and the Tennessee Hospital Association's Center for Innovative Solutions. His previous community involvement included serving as chairman of the executive committee of the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce and on the board of YMCA of Robertson County, among other activities.

Scott Warwick

Scott Warwick has served as the Chief Administrative Officer and President of Thompson Cancer Survival Center, the health system's flagship cancer program, since July 2019. Warwick, a Knoxville native, is responsible for overseeing the administration of eight Thompson Cancer Survival Center & Thompson Oncology Group locations and working strategically with oncology physicians and staff. Most recently, Warwick has served as the Executive Director for the National Association for Proton Therapy in Washington, D.C. Warwick has served in a variety of clinical, administrative and executive positions during his 20+-year career. He began his oncology experience as a certified medical dosimetrist, a specialist who designs radiation treatment plans. In 2009, he was named Vice President of Clinical Operations for Provision Healthcare in Knoxville, and in 2013 he transitioned to Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Program Development. Warwick is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center School of Allied Health.

Teresa Giles

Teresa Giles has served as the Senior Vice President of Finance for Covenant Health since January 2016. She previously served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for the health system. Her responsibilities include financial oversight for Covenant Health's general accounting, property accounting, tax, reimbursement, payroll, accounts payable, cash management (treasury and debt), service line financial support, productivity management, management engineers, decision support, and coding and transcription. Giles began her career in 1993 as an accountant for Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Giles holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
