Chloe Banks

Chloe has been with Barking Mad for many years. She started out by training her own dog Roxy the Shih tzu over 12 years ago. Chloe has always loved working with animals and when she finished college in 2017 she decided that dog training was the career she wanted to pursue. Upon completing the Instructors course in 2017 she has joined the Barking Mad team and has gone from stength to strength in all of her training. Chloe is an accredited Scentwork Instructor and is a sport she has a real passion for.

Donna Symons

Donna has been with Barking Mad DTS as a customer for many years with her Labrador Milo. In 2018 Donna completed the Instructors course and proceeded to help out with classes where she could. A year later Donna decided to take the leap and join us as a Instructor for Barking Mad DTS. Donna continued to go from stength to strength in completing her Diploma in Canine Communication and many other courses to widen her knowledge and experience. Donna also works in our Office as an Administrator where she is polite, professional and happy to help in any way she can.

Donna Thirlwell

Donna joined Barking Mad DTS over 9 years ago. She originally came along with her Rottweiler puppy Otto. With all the training and progress at Barking Mad she decided to go forward and complete the PAT Training and assessment with Otto, who became a real ambassador for both the Breed and Barking Mad DTS. Donna then was approached and asked if she would like to become part of the Barking Mad DTS Instructing Team where she now takes all levels of classes and 121's and specialises in Fly Agility. Donna sadly lost Otto a few years back but her new rotties' Otis and Obi (aged 3 and 1) are a great legacy to both Otto and Donna's expertise. Donna then proceeded to take over and is now in charge of our Daycare and shop at Barking Mad DTS Graveley.

Helen James

As one of the longest serving Instructors with Barking Mad DTS Helen over the past 12 years has gone on to be one of the back bones behind the success of the school. Senior Agility Instructor and top Clicker Trainer, Helen also competes with her dog's at a high standard in both of these areas.

Jan McLeman

Job Titles:

Jan has been coming to Barking Mad with her Boxer (Taz) for 6 years. Originally she started off with an week long intensive course and loved it so much she stayed at Barking Mad DTS ever since. Jan now manages our on site shop during the week and at weekends.

Kayleigh Birnie

Kayleigh has been coming to Barking Mad for over 14 years. She initially started assisting with the K9 Kids club and on K9 Kidz Events. As Kayleigh qualified in Animal Management & Behaviour she worked in the BMDTS Shop. Very early on, Kayleigh decided that a career working with dogs was what she wanted to do. In 2008 she successfully completed BMDTS Instructors Programme and then soon after progressed to instructing the K9 Kidz Club as well as taking both puppy and adult classes. Kayleigh was offered a role as part of the admin team three years ago and has progressed to Office Manager and PA to the director of Training. Further to that Kayleigh and Donna have recently taken over as the owners of Barking Mad DTS Graveley.

Lucy Perkins

Lucy came to Barking Mad DTS after getting her Siberian Huskey Harri as a puppy. After watching and seeing him develop, Lucy decided that a change in her career path was for her and she decided to train to be a dog trainer with the BMDTS Instructors Programme. Lucy has never looked back and is a popular pet instructor as well as supervising the K9 Kidz Junior Instructing Team.

Paul Kelly

Paul came to the club several years ago looking for advice about how to progress as a dog trainer. He loved the atmosphere and the ethos behind Barking Mad and he enrolled his dog in for training. Four years ago, Paul successfully completed the BMDTS Instructors Programme which then led him onto becoming an Instructor. Paul now specialises in Disc Dog (a fun dog sport for owner and dog alike). One of Pauls greatest personal achievements since joining Barking Mad DTS as well as his standard with his own dog is paul has been overcoming a Stammer which has now disappeared due to finding the confidence and passion in something he loves.

Shauna Collins

Shauna became involved with Barking Mad through being involved with training her dog, Louie with her mum from the age of 9. She has become more and more confident over the last few years and her crowning moment was successfully completing the BMDTS Instructor's Course. Following that Shauna then completed her Foundation Degree in animal science in 2018 and decided dog training was the path she wanted to take. Shauna has a real passion for Gundog which she has shown in the standard she has achieved with her own dog Brodie (Labrador).

TD Rally

Merica has had a passion for working with dogs since a very young age. After finishing her studies and finally getting a dog of her own, Yuki (Chocolate Lab) she came to Barking Mad DTS hoping to further her knowledge and progress her dog's abilities. Four years on, Merica is now an experienced Instructor and has rehomed a 2nd dog, Squib and regularly competes in Working Trials, Gundog, TD Rally & TD Scentwork.
