My introduction to web design started about 17 years ago when I wanted to create a fan site for the Japanese anime/manga Sailor Moon. Back in those days, things like GeoCities' site builders existed but I found their features sorely lacking. I started to teach myself HTML in order to create my own website and some years after that, CSS to style pages. In high school, I taught myself graphic design techniques to complement my web design skills. From there, I never looked back, going on to make fan sites for bands and then later making graphics and websites for various organizations through college and at work... I grew up with a strong interest in art and can remember drawing from an early age. I formally took art classes in high school and completed the Visual Arts Higher Level option as part of the International Baccalaureate program.
