There is a huge safety advantage in an enclosed tube vs open flume type slides. We use low density UV stabilized polyethlyene for the SafetyTubes™, which provides a huge advantage over fiberglass products. Fiberglass slides require massive amounts of water to give the rider a smooth, non-abrasive ride. Polyethylene requires small amounts of lubrication for a smooth, fast and safe ride. There are obvious savings with polyethylene tubes because a large, expensive water pump and associated maintenance is not required...
