Alonzo Cantu was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbot in 2019 and will serve through August 31, 2025.
Alonzo Cantu has been credited by many as being a central driving force behind the transformation of the business and political landscape of South Texas, the third fastest growing metropolitan statistical area in the country, as a banker, developer, philanthropist and dedicated community organizer.
Mr. Cantu is Chairman and CEO of Cantu Construction. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Lone Star National Bank; a Hispanic owned and operated financial institution. Currently, Mr. Cantu serves as a member of the Board of Managers and chairs the Finance and Management Committees at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Health System. Mr. Cantu is the owner of Valley Land Title Co, a real estate title insurance agency with offices in McAllen, Edinburg, Mission and Weslaco. He led the company in its efforts to become the preferred title insurance agent in Hidalgo County. Alonzo Cantu is the owner of the United Soccer League's Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and the majority owner of the NBA G-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Alonzo Cantu is one of the original founders of the Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS). Mr. Cantu is a founding board member of the Advocacy Alliance Center of Texas (AACT) -a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empower voters and increase voter turnout.
Cantu earned his BA in Finance from the University of Houston. He has been married to Yolanda R. Cantu for 36 years and they have two children, Allysa Nicole and Alexis Carina.

Beth Madison was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbott in 2015 for a second six-year term that expired on August 31, 2021. She was reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott for a third six-year term in October 2021 and will serve through August 31, 2027.
In 1983, she founded Madison Benefits Group, Inc., which in 2008 became a wholly owned subsidiary of Higginbotham, a commercial risk management and insurance firm. Madison is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter and a Chartered Life Underwriter. She served as President of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum and on the board for the Houston Chartered Life Underwriters as well as national advisory boards for multiple insurance companies.
Madison is active in Houston philanthropic activities, serving as Trustee of Madison Charitable Foundation, Past Chairman of the Houston World Affairs Council, Senior Chairman of the Houston Grand Opera, Secretary for the Board of the Alley Theatre and Secretary for the Rice University Shepherd School of Music Society. She has served on the boards for The Houston Symphony, Trees for Houston, Preservation Houston and the Advisory Boards for Baylor College of Medicine Teen Clinic and the Baylor Partnership. She has been recognized for her services by ABC/13 as a Woman of Distinction in 2011 and named Ambassador in 2014. She received the Community Pillar Award in 2012 from Preservation Houston, and was named a Visionary Leader by the Houston Symphony in 2012. She was inducted into the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame in 2013.
Madison received a BA from the University of Houston and has been active in supporting the Business, Music, Athletic and Engineering Schools. She was awarded the President's Medallion and named Distinguished Alumni in 2010.

Dr. John A. McCall Jr. was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents in 2019 by Governor Greg Abbott and will serve through August 31, 2025.
Dr. McCall has previously served as the President of the Student Texas Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He has received the Texas Young Optometrist of the year Award, Optometrist of the Year Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. The University of Houston College of Optometry honored Dr. McCall in 1998 with the Alumnus of the Year Award and in 1999 with the Bill Pittman Leadership Award. McCall also owns the Treehouse Academy, a state of the art daycare located in Crockett, Texas, which is managed by his daughter Lyndsey Rice. Dr.McCall is a founding member of Vision Source LP, one of the largest Doctor Networks in the world and continues to serve as Sr. VP of Medical Vendor Relations for Vision Source.
Dr. McCall owns Crockett Eye Clinic which is a full service Vision Source Clinic. This clinic was opened in 1949 by his father Dr. John McCall Sr and has continuously taken care of the eye-health of Houston County and surrounding counties for 70 years.Dr. McCall served as a member of the Active Medical Staff for the Crockett Hospital for 28 years, as well as an officer of the Medical Staff for 15 years.Dr. McCall currently performs surgical procedures at his Surgical Center in Logansport, Louisiana, specializing in Glaucoma Laser Surgery. Dr. McCall is licensed to practice in Texas, Louisiana, and Iowa.
Dr. McCall is an Adjunct Professor of Optometric Medicine and Surgery with the University of Houston College of Optometry and is a Diplomat and Board Certified with the American Board of Optometry. Has served as President of the Crockett Jaycees and the Crockett Rotary Club, a previous member of the Houston County Appraisal Board, and served the City of Crockett as both City Councilman and Mayor. McCall received his B.S. from the University of Houston and his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1977.

Durga Agrawal was reappointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents in 2019 by Governor Greg Abbott and will serve through August 31, 2025.
Agrawal is president & CEO of Piping Technology & Products, Inc., a company providing products and services for industrial and construction needs. He is a director of the Agrawal Association of America and a member of the India Cultural Community and Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC, U.S. Dept. of Commerce/USTR).
Agrawal is also a member of the National and Texas Societies of Professional Engineers and is an advisor to the University of Houston Department of Industrial Engineering. He serves on the Cullen College of Engineering Leadership board and is also a past member of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. Agrawal is a member of the Board of Advisors and past president of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston, board member of Friedman Industries, and past president and current trustee of India House Houston. He currently serves on the board of directors of Asia Society Texas, and on the board of visitors at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Gregory C. King is a Managing Partner of EnCap Flatrock Midstream (EFM) headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining EFM in 2015, Mr. King spent nearly 15 years at Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE: VLO) in San Antonio. He served as President of Valero from 2003 to 2007. As Valero's President, he helped develop and execute a strategy to build the largest independent refiner in North America. During the same period, he also served as a member of the board of directors of Valero, L.P. (now NuStar Energy, L.P) (NYSE: NS). Mr. King held various roles at Valero before being named President, including General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. King has been actively involved with a number of charitable organizations over the years. He served for 10 years as the Chairman of the Board of Focus on the Family, a national, faith-based organization headquartered in Colorado Springs. Mr. King is also an Emeritus Director of the University of Houston Law Foundation.
Mr. King earned his J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center in 1985 and practiced law at Bracewell LLP's Houston office from 1985 to 1993, becoming a partner in 1993. He received a B. B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas in 1982.
In addition to helping run the day-to-day operations of EFM, Mr. King currently serves on the board of directors of several EFM portfolio companies, including Edgewater Midstream, Lotus Midstream, Manchester Midstream and Mada Midstream.

Jack B. Moore was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbott in 2018 for a six-year term and will serve through August 31, 2023.
Moore most recently served as President and CEO of Cameron International Corporation from April 2008 to October 2015 and served as Chairman of the Board of Cameron from May 2011 until it was acquired by Schlumberger in April 2016. Moore served as Cameron's President and COO from January 2007 to April 2008. Moore joined Cameron in 1999 and, prior to that, held various management positions at Baker Hughes Incorporated, where he was employed for over 20 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Occidental Petroleum Company, KBR, and Propetro Holdings. Moore also serves in leadership positions with the American Heart Association as well as the Memorial Assistance Ministries. Moore earned his BBA in 1977 from the University of Houston and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Mrs. Frederica Dudley was married to Mr. Ray Lofton Dudley and served on the Board of Governors from March 13, 1945 until September 11, 1963. Mr. Dudley was the owner of the Gulf Publishing Company. general manager for the Houston Post Dispatch.
Under his leadership Gulf Publishing Company became the world's largest specialized publisher on oild subjects. Dudley was chairman of the Gulf Printing Company , one of the largest printing firms in the South and Southwest, director of the American Petroleum Institute and Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, and one of the founders of NOMADS, an organization made up of oilmen with international business experience.
Mr. & Mrs. Dudley were one of the founders of the Houston Livestock Show. They had four children.

Ricky A. Raven was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbot in 2021 for a six-year term and will serve through August 31, 2027.
Raven is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Allstate Insurance Company. In that role, Ricky leads the Corporate Litigation and Staff Counsel practice groups.
Raven has been admitted to the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is dedicated to promoting the best interests of the legal practice, the highest standards and techniques of advocacy, and excellent character and integrity. Tammy Denton Murphy was born and raised in Victoria, attended Victoria College and received a BBA from University of Houston - Victoria in 1995. Tammy began her career at Chick-fil-A at the "ripe old age" of thirteen and currently works alongside her husband, David, a 25-year franchisee with Chick-fil-A, operating three restaurants in their hometown as well as consult the licensed Chick-fil-A location on the UHV campus. As a Victoria native, she is passionate about the success and future of her community, especially the youth. David and Tammy are advocates for education, creating scholarships at both Victoria College and UHV and supporting the educational goals of their 200 Chick-fil-A Team Members through mentorship, tutoring and scholarship opportunities.
When she was only twenty, and while attending Victoria College full-time, Murphy opened her own food/retail business. As a student at UHV, she served as the Student Liaison on the Dean's Advisory Board.
Murphy has served as the Co-Chair of the Victoria College Bond PAC, chaired multiple Relay for Life events for the American Cancer Society, chaired the Children's Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent's Capital Campaign, and served as a Young Life Committee member. She has chaired the Chick-fil-A 5/10K benefitting Young Life Victoria for the last thirteen years.
Murphy currently serves on the UHV College of Business Dean's Advisory Board, the Innovation Collective Success Team, the Victoria Main Street Program Board and is the Vice-President of Future Sight. She serves and supports countless other local charities and nonprofits with her time, talents and resources.
The Murphy's received the UHV Distinguished Alumni Award in 2010 and the UHV Community Partnership Award in 2021. Most recently, in celebration of UHV's 50-year anniversary, they were selected as two of the 50 Faces recognized for contributing to UHV's success and role in the Crossroads community.
David and Tammy celebrated their 30 th wedding anniversary in 2024. Tammy's proudest accomplishment is being mom to their son, Brayden (26, a UHV graduate) and daughter, Ansley (23, a graduate student at Texas Tech University).

Tilman J. Fertitta was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents in 2009 for a six-year term by Governor Rick Perry. When his term expired in 2015, Governor Greg Abbott reappointed him for a second six-year term that expired August 2021. Governor Abbott reappointed him for a third six-year term to the University of Houston System Board of Regents on October 19, 2021. He assumed the role as Chairman of the UH System Board of Regents in September 2014 and has been Chairman of the Board since that time. He also serves as an ex officio member on each of the Board's standing committees; the Board liaison for Governmental Relations; and chairman of the Executive Committee.
A native of Galveston, he attended UH's Conrad N.Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Fertitta is chairman, president, CEO and controlling shareholder of Landry's, Inc., whose properties include the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Lake Charles, the Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, and restaurant chains such as Morton's The Steakhouse, McCormick and Schmicks, Chart House, Bubba Gump, Rainforest Café, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Vic and Anthony's.
In 2004, Fertitta was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame, the second-youngest inductee ever to receive this honor next to Michael Dell.
Fertitta is chairman of the Houston Children Charity and the Houston Police Foundation, is on the executive committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and serves on the boards of Texas Heart Institute, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Sam Houston Area Council - Boy Scouts of America, and the Greater Houston Partnership.

Tomas A. Bryan is a second-year graduate student actively pursuing a Master of Science in Finance with a specialization in Investment Banking and Private Equity.
