James Rolfe

James was educated at St Paul's School, London before gaining a degree in Economics at the University of Exeter. James continued his education at Exeter and attained a Masters with Distinction in Finance and Investment in 1999. Thereafter James joined Tim and Mark at Sarasin as an investment manager and worked closely with them both in asset managing and advisory activities of institutional clients. James is a Director and founder shareholder of Commander Asset Management Ltd and holds the position of investment manager and is also responsible for the operational aspects of the investment management / advisory activities. James is also a Vice-President of the Old Pauline Club, where he sits on various committees.

Mark Randall - CEO

After leaving the Royal Navy, Mark joined the London office of Bank Sarasin in 1985 and during his 17 year tenure, he held multiple positions within the company. In 1994 he became an Executive Director before assuming the position of Managing Director. This role included managing and advising Institutional funds and being responsible for all international securities trading for the Bank Sarasin Group. Mark was also founding Chairman of the Acorn Alternative Strategies Overseas Ltd, a Hedge Fund of Fund company which had assets under management in excess of Chf 500 million. Mark and the team formed Commander Asset Management in 2002. Mark has held and continues to hold Non-Executive Director roles in both private and publicly quoted companies.

Timothy Tatham - Founder

Having attained a degree in Economic History at the University of Exeter, from 1980 Tim worked for Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers in London as an account executive, covering a diverse range of financial products and markets for institutional clients. In 1990 he joined Creditanstalt Bank in Vienna, in their equities department to provide expertise on derivatives as well as on equity sales and trading. In his time in Vienna, he managed the Bank's derivative book and looked after the Bank's major clients in London. In 1994 he joined the London office of Bank Sarasin. In his 7 years with Sarasin he wrote valuation models for bonds and equities. He managed a European SICAV equity fund and was investment adviser to a US limited partnership investing in global equities. Tim is a founder shareholder of Commander Asset Management Ltd and holds the position of Director.
