Adele Norris

Adele started working in the practice in 1993 and since then has gained a vast range of experience working with many different dentists each having different skills and specific interests under the umbrella of dentistry. She has also worked closely with members of the public of all ages, backgrounds and medical status, and has always been comforting and reassuring while upholding the public's rite of freedom of choice and confidentiality. Her work ethic is excellent and she is adaptable to any role required in the dental team as long as she feels comfortable that she has sufficient training, experience and competence to carry out the required task safely and to a high standard

Amy Morris

Amy is a Dental Hygienist at Bethcar Dental Practice. Amy says, ‘I've spent my whole career in dentistry, spending 8 years as a Dental nurse before qualifying with distinction as a Dental Hygienist in 2019'.

Ceri Hughes

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery
Ceri qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2002 with Distinction and Honours. Following qualification, she worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery/ Oral Medicine and Paediatric (children's) dentistry. This enabled Ceri to gain experience in the treatment of difficult extractions and the management of diseases of the soft tissues. In addition, she was able to gain experience treating patients with complex medical needs and dental anxiety. In 2005, Ceri became a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Ceri has a keen interest in restorative dentistry and has previously worked alongside a Consultant Restorative Dentist at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff, gaining further experience in more advanced restorative procedures. Having worked in general practice for several years providing care to NHS, private and Denplan patients, Ceri and her family relocated to New Zealand in 2010 where she practised private dentistry. Having missed their Welsh family and friends, Ceri and her family returned home to Wales where she has continued to work in general practice, providing both NHS and private care. Ceri enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, particularly restorative dentistry and the provision of aesthetic fillings and crown/ bridgework. Having worked in general practice for many years, and within a number of different dental specialities, Ceri aims to provide quality dental care in a relaxed environment.

Clare Jones

Clare qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2008 at Cardiff Dental Hospital and has been working at Bethcar Dental since 2011. Prior to qualifying as a hygienist Clare worked as a Dental Nurse for 14 years. Her nursing career started here at Bethcar Dental when she was only 18 years old before leaving to join the Royal Air Force. She thoroughly enjoys her job and is keen to help patients with all aspects of looking after their oral Hygiene.

Deborah Morgan

Job Titles:
  • Practice Manager
Deborah joined the practice in 1983 on a Y.T.S scheme and was employed as a permanent member of staff in 1984 working as a dental nurse for the first 10 years and since as a receptionist. Deborah is our Practice Manager and ensures the smooth running of the practice on a day to day basis. She is only to happy to help all patients with any problems or queries relating to the practice.

Laura Mary Wedge

Laura qualified from Cardiff University Dental Hospital in 2008 and has worked in General Practice since. Laura has worked at Bethcar Dental Practice since 2009 although she did undertake brief sabbatical to study a Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Cardiff University. In 2013 she returned when she and her husband Rhys to purchase the practice. Laura's reassuring and gentle manner will appeal to any nervous patient, she prides herself helping patients understand what's possible and working with them to achieve their aims, whether it's a simple treatment or a complex rehabilitation. She always involves patients in decisions about their treatment so that they feel relaxed and empowered about the choices they make. Over the past 5 years, Laura has in particular pursued her interests in cosmetic orthodontics, teeth whitening using tray bleaching and to compliment these cosmetic procedures she also performs wrinkle relaxing injections. A firm believer in the importance of lifelong learning, Laura regularly attends postgraduate courses to update his knowledge with the latest advances in dentistry. Following the successful completion of the MJDF examination in 2013, she is a member of the Joint Dental Faculties the Royal College of Surgeons. Areas of Expertise: Dental Sedation

Mark Travis

Mark joined the practice in September 2015. Mark qualified from the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2014 and has worked in general practice since. Mark enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, aiming to achieve high standards of dental and patient care. He actively encourages patient's to be involved in their treatment plans, advising them on how to best improve their oral health. Mark prides himself on his ability to make patients of all ages, comfortable in the surgery and throughout treatment. Mark enjoys attending various conferences and post-graduate course in order to keep his knowledge of dentistry up to date.

Michelle Davies

Michelle has worked at the practice for 12 years where she started as Dental Nurse Trainee before completing a Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2006. She enjoys all areas of dental assisting but finds restorative dentistry the most rewarding. Michelle loves the job and says that she takes great satisfaction in knowing she is helping patients with their individual problems and finds working as part of a team fantastic.

Natalie Pascoe

Natalie started working at Bethcar Dental Practice in July 2017. She has been a dental nurse since 2002. Natalie does a wide range of duties including all elements of dental nursing as well as working on reception and assisting in the decontamination room. Natalie and her family have been patients of ours for many years and it is great to have her as part of the team. Natalie loves her job as she enjoys meeting people and making them feel at ease in the dental environment.

Rhys Edward Morgan

Rhys qualified from Cardiff University Dental Hospital in 2007 and has worked in General Practice since. He has worked at Bethcar Dental Practice since 2013 when he and his wife Laura purchased the practice. In 2009 he became a member of the Joint Dental Faculties, following the successful completion of the MJDF examination awarded by the Royal college of Surgeons of England. This then led to a Masters degree in Forensic Dentistry from the University of Glamorgan in 2012. He is a member of the Gwent Local Dental Committee (LDC) which determines the direction of dentistry in the region. He has recently been awarded a distinction in a Diploma in Endontology (Root Canal Treatment) from the University of South Wales and Morriston Hospital in Swansea. He finds all aspects of dentistry rewarding particularly helping patients achieve the healthy mouths they deserve. He is also a Domicillary dentist within the Blaenau Gwent area visiting patients who are unable to attend for routine care due to medical reasons. Rhys assists the police and legal professional whilst fulfilling his role as a Forensic Consultant for Expert Forensics in Cardiff. This involves Dental Identifications, Bite Mark Analysis and Age Assessment. Rhys was a finalist for the Best Young Dentist 2014 and would like to thank all those that have supported him. Sian Hodges

Sian joined the practice in 2014 but has been a qualified dental nurse since 2005. She is trained to take dental x-rays. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry but being a nervous patient herself, has feels that it is of particular importance to make sure a visit to the dentist is as relaxed and stress-free as possible. Sian has completed a conscious sedation course to allow her to assist in the provision of dental sedation.

Sonam Sanghavi

Sonam qualified from University Dental Hospital, Cardiff in 2015. Following further examinations in 2017, Sonam was successfully awarded a Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Prior to joining Bethcar Dental Practice in April 2018, Sonam worked in the Restorative, Oral Surgery, Orthodontic and Emergency Departments at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff over a period of 2 years. She then joined the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport where she worked as a Senior House Officer. From these experiences, Sonam believes she has the skills to provide a holistic approach to treat a wide range of patients at Bethcar Dental Practice, from helping nervous patients overcome their anxiety to carrying out more complex treatment for individuals looking to enhance their smiles. Sonam enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry, with the emphasis on preventing dental disease. She aims to make each dental visit as pleasant as possible and strives for patients to leave her surgery with a smile! Keen to pursue her interest in Cosmetic Orthodontics, Sonam attained her accreditation to provide Cosmetically Focused Adult Straight Teeth (CFAST) to adults. This rewarding treatment allows teeth to be straightened using both clear aligners and fixed braces in a short period of time so feel free to book a consultation with her to discuss this further. Outside of work, Sonam loves hiking, travelling to experience different cultures and shopping!

Tayla Baker

Tayla qualified from the University of Bristol Dental School in 2017 and then undertook her foundation training in the market town of Marlborough. She went on to work as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery over a period of two years, firstly at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and then at the University Hospital of Wales. During this time Tayla gained more experience in the assessment and treatment of oral diseases as well as carrying out complicated dental extractions. She also completed her MFDS examinations and is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Tayla enjoys carrying out all aspects of general dentistry but has special interests in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. She is certified to carry out short term orthodontics in adults and is a registered provider of both Invisalign Go and Six Month Smiles and will happily discuss these with patients who are interested in straighter teeth. In addition to dentistry, Tayla also provides facial aesthetic treatments, having completed her facial aesthetics training at the Avanti Aesthetics Academy, on Harley Street in London. She is certified to carry out advanced anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and medical grade skin care. Outside of work, Tayla enjoys running to keep fit and also loves to play squash. She also has a passion for cooking and is always looking to try new recipes.
