I'm Joe Winter, founder and owner of Winter Woods. I live in Northeast Iowa and specialize in the salvage and sales of reclaimed barn wood. Old barns hold an important connection to our past, but changes to the landscape of the family farm over the years have left these older buildings impractical and often times obsolete for the modern farm. In many cases, old barns have sat idle and ignored for many years. I dismantle these timeworn barns, corn cribs and farm buildings, reclaiming the weathered siding, beams, lumber and hardware to be repurposed, recycled, and upcycled. Reclaimed barn wood has become popular design element in homes and businesses today. The character of this unique wood is unmatched in a new product and it's environmentally friendly.
