WOMEN AND CHILD CARE ORGANIZATION

Women and Child Care Organization (WOCCA) is a non-governmental, non-political and not-for-profit making organization that was recently named in June 2006 General Assembly of WOCCA with its historical background and achievements was established in 1996 by a group of Somali professionals with the aim of humanitarian focus to assist needy communities in Somalia with its overall aims to improve the economic status of women farmers and women headed households who are struggling with life as the breadwinners for their households. The organization also focuses on the protection of the Rights of Children in Somalia. Main areas of WOCCA's programs mainly focus on Agriculture Development, Micro-Finance, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Capacity building, Human and Child rights, Campaign against Poverty and Illiteracy, Peace Promotion and Advocacy, Awareness rising on FGM/HIVAIDS, Water and Sanitation, education as well as Environmental Protection in Somalia.
