David Pawling

David moved to Canford Heath in 1997 from Kent and has two daughters, who both attended schools within the TEACH trust. When his eldest daughter started at Haymoor Junior School, David joined the Parents Association becoming its chair and then later became a governor of the school. Prior to Haymoor Junior School becoming part of the TEACH trust, David was the Chair of Governors and became one of the Members of the TEACH trust as well as a Trustee.

Dean Chown

Dean has been a TEACH Trust Trustee since November 2021. Dean has two children, the eldest is currently attending Ad Astra Infant School. He is a qualified chartered accountant with 10 years' experience covering audit, risk, cash flow forecasting and commercial business partnering. He currently leads a finance team in a global leader in the family entertainments industry. His passion is for quality education and upholding family values and believes it is the key to our children's future.

Francesca Perry

Francesca moved to Bournemouth in 2000 from London, having previously relocated from the Midlands in 1987. She worked within industry before deciding to embark on a career change and returned to further education as a mature student; she achieved a First Class BEd (Hons) in Education in 1997. She has since gained a wealth of experience having taught every year group from Reception to Year 6 and became the Headteacher at Stanley Green Infant Academy in January 2022. She is also a qualified SENCO. Francesca is keen to make links with local schools so that she can help to achieve the very best outcomes for children in education; she became a Trustee at TEACH in 2022. She has two daughters who are both currently studying at King's College in London.

Julie Jeans

Julie initially trained as a secondary school teacher in Bath, but after having her two daughters she began helping in their primary school in Ferndown. This led to her completing a Master's Degree in Primary Education. Following this she had teaching posts in Ferndown and Corfe Mullen where she became a Deputy Head. Her first headship was at St Ives First School in Ringwood moving then to the headship at Lilliput First School in Poole. Following an ‘outstanding' OFSTED, Julie was invited to become a NLE (National Leader of Education) giving support to schools both in Dorset and further afield. In order to support these schools and her own school further, she became an OFSTED inspector. During this time she was also asked to become the acting headteacher in another Poole Primary School. Following retirement from full- time education, Julie worked for Poole SCITT as a Professional Tutor. This experience allowed her to support trainee teachers in all of the TEACH schools as well as most schools across BCP and some in Dorset. Julie is now fully retired and wishes to use her skills and knowledge to fully support the staff and pupils within TEACH.

Mrs Emma Hall

Emma is the Chair of the TEACH Trust. Emma was elected as a Governor by parents and carers in December 2014, became a Trustee and then Chair of Standards Committee before taking on the role of TEACH Trust Chair in 2019. Emma has nearly 20 years' experience in marketing and customer communications in the financial services sector. She now works as a marketing consultant supporting clients to improve their customer experience, communications and strategy. Emma was born and educated in Poole, returning to family and friends after four years at University. She lives with her husband David, two boys and two cats. Emma is passionate about supporting the Trust to improve education for all children and families in the Canford Heath area. She's particularly interested in improving outcomes for children with additional educational needs.

Mrs Kate Carter - CEO

Kate is the Chief Executive Officer for the TEACH Trust and until September 2022, was the Executive Headteacher and CEO for all the four schools. Kate graduated as a teacher from the University of Reading in 1998 and has been teaching for many years in Poole and Bournemouth. Her specialism is in English, and she has worked on many English development initiatives - nationally and locally, including work for the National Strategies; leading the Poole Schools' School Improvement Support Group for English and training new teachers in SCITT programmes. Kate has two lovely sons who are both in further education.

Paul Squire

Paul has been a TEACH Trust Trustee since November 2019. He has lived in Canford Heath all his life and attended Canford Heath Infant School, Canford Heath Junior School and Ashdown School. Paul has 2 children who currently attend Haymoor Junior School. He is a senior leader with 20 years' Risk and Control Management, Audit and Compliance experience, mostly within the Financial Services industry in the UK and Overseas, he has also held governance roles as a member of Audit & Finance and Risk Committees and has a post graduate qualification from the Institute of Risk Management. Paul is keen to support the Teach Trust schools by focusing on the education of children first so that they can all achieve the best possible outcome through their school journey.

Sandra Moore

Sandra is both a TEACH Trust member and a Trustee. She became a governor at Canford Heath Junior School in 2000; she later joined governors at Canford Heath Infant School and continued as a governor following the merger of the two schools into a Federation. She was born in Bournemouth, has lived in Poole for over 40 years and in Canford Heath for over 20 years. Sandra is a local councillor and represents Canford Heath on BCP Council. She is married with one son and two young grandsons who both attend schools in Poole. Sandra supports the Teach Trust because she believes it will enable local families to access the best possible education for their children.

Sean Frampton

Sean has been a Governor at Haymoor Junior School since 2014 when his son attended the school, in 2018 he became a Trustee. He has recently retired from the Fire Service, after almost 31 years, where he was Head of Operational Training for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. Sean has used the skills and knowledge gained through his career and has been able to apply them to his role as Governor and now Trustee. This has included the management of Health and Safety across the Trust schools, an overview of the requirements for premises improvements and examining the financial aspects of the schools. He has a passion for learning and developing others and sees being a Trustee as the opportunity to give something back to the community, assisting in the lifelong learning and developing a growth mindset of our children in a safe and inspirational environment.

Val Arbon

Val was the previous Headteacher of Ad Astra Infant School and until April 2018, was the Chief Executive Officer for the Trust. She trained to teach in Lincoln at Bishop Grosseteste College, where she achieved a First Class Education Degree. Val was a local Headteacher for over 25 years. She played an active part in the Local Authority and sat on various working groups ranging from budgeting to school improvement. Val is now retired but remains a Trustee. She lives in Wimborne and is married with one daughter, who attended Corfe Hills School.
