Mr. Powell has over 45 years of Fire Service experience. Thirty years of active suppression experience with the Carson City Nevada, Fire Dept. and responded to over 17,000 calls for service during his career. Mr. Powell retired as Chief of Operations in 1997. The Carson City Nevada Fire Dept is a paid fire department and is a full service agency responsible for Prevention, Level "A" Hazardous Materials, Wildland, Commercial, Industrial and Residential structure fire protection. Paramedic engine/ambulance service, high and low angle rescue along with confined space and trench rescues operations. Additional duties included year to year planning and budgeting as well as long term planning including department expansion, development of automatic aid and mutual aid agreements with local and state wide agencies
