Adip has joined APACMed as Country Lead for India. Prior to joining APCO, Adip served in corporate affairs roles with respected multinationals like Alstom and Ingersoll Rand. Alex Gu - President, SVP

Alex Gu is Senior Vice President and President of Medtronic Greater China. Based in Shanghai, he is a member of the Medtronic Executive Committee. Until January 2018, Alex Gu was Vice President, Regional Growth Initiatives, Greater China, leading the business development, medical and clinical affairs, emerging markets/private hospitals, and R&D functions in the region. He was also the Greater China leader for Medtronic's Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG). Alex is a native of China. Alicia Chang

Currently, Alicia manages cross-functional work of APACMed in China, including government affairs and market access, regulatory issues, digital health pathways, and China's MedTech collaboration with the broader region. Prior to joining APACMed, Alicia worked as the Chief Liaison Officer and senior international manager at CCCMHPIE for over 10 years, to drive bilateral and multilateral cooperation programs with a number of health-related government and non-government bodies in China. She has extensive experience in driving projects under the governmental framework, public relations, policy analysis, advocacy programs, seminars, and events. She has been a key facilitator of multiple government-led bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the China-UK healthcare working group, China-CEEC Alliance for Public Health, China-ASEAN Healthcare Products Expo, etc. She was leading a number of global health projects, including WHO pre-qualification Studies on China's MedTech industry. An EU-certified conference interpreter, Alicia received her master's degree in applied linguistics from the University of International Business and Economics. She has also completed her second master's degree in Public Health from the Vanke School of Public Health at Tsinghua University.

Benish has close to a decade of prior experience in developing evidence based tailored therapeutic protocols for patient centric care in a multidisciplinary team at a tertiary hospital in India. In Singapore, Benish completed an MBA in strategy & digital leadership from ESSEC Business School. He was also formerly an executive director in the pharmaceutical industry associations of China (RDPAC), Australia (Medicines Australia), and Korea (Korea Pharma). Chris serves on the board of the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed). As 2023 unfolded, she took on the leadership of the APACMed Regulatory Affairs Committee. Through this role, she continues to shape the healthcare landscape in the APAC region, reflecting her unwavering dedication to excellence and innovation. Before her time at APACMed, Cindy's career unfolded in France, where she practised as a pharmacist. Her days revolved around ensuring patients received the medications they needed and providing essential guidance. This hands-on experience allowed her to collaborate seamlessly with fellow healthcare professionals, gaining valuable insights into pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and therapeutic approaches that enhance patients' lives. Cindy holds a Pharm D from the renowned French University François Rabelais, which laid the foundation for her deep understanding of pharmaceutical sciences. To augment her medical knowledge with business skills, she pursued an Advanced Master's in Strategy and management of International Business (SMIB) from ESSEC Business School Asia Pacific.

Gabriel Sim

Gabriel is currently Director, Strategic Partnerships at the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed). He is instrumental in building APACMed membership, driving MedTech Forum programmes and sponsorship, and developing initiatives to foster collaboration between corporates and start-ups. Bringing a public policy perspective to strategic market access topics, Glenda seeks to improve access to care, translate value-based outcomes for reimbursement, and facilitate efficient adoption of innovative medical technologies for patients and populations across the region. In her career to date, Glenda has worked at the nexus of government, hospitals and research. As a senior policy analyst in Singapore's health ministry, Glenda participated in developing health and social service reimbursement policy for the intermediate and long-term care sector, as well as led ground hospital operations including implementation of value-based outcomes programme in a tertiary hospital. Most recently, Glenda worked as a Research Associate in a multidisciplinary research team comprising clinicians and research scientists to develop a design-assist device solution for edentulous patients, with the goals of reducing patient wait time and unlocking cost savings through mass customisation. Glenda holds a masters' degree from the University of Chicago in social sciences with a concentration in International Political Economy, and an undergraduate degree from LSE in Government and Economics.

Four years later, James was appointed as President of Greater Asia and an Executive Member of the company, becoming the first Asian leader to take office in the region's 30-year history. A strong believer in developing and retaining the best of talents, James was conferred the Leading CEO award by the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) in 2014. The award was testimony to his championship of innovative and effective HR ideas and practices and demonstration of leadership commitment to talent development within the industry. Lam Chee Hong - President

Nishan Pillai

Nishan joined APACMed in February 2019. He manages and oversees all financial, administrative, IT and operations for the Association. Nishan has more than 15 years of administrative and finance experience, with roles spanned across managing financial planning, human resource, building facilities and operations, policy and procedures formulation and other administrative tasks. Prior to joining APACMed, Nishan was with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore since 2005. Nishan was posted as the Administrative and Consular Secretary at the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia and Doha, Qatar from 2008 to 2018. His main duties were managing and maintaining the administrative "heartbeat" of the Ministry and Embassy. These roles and responsibilities, involving a wide range of administrative, policy and consular functions, were performed in tandem with the Singapore Government Instruction Manuals, stipulated by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Singapore. Probir has three decades of medical technology industry experience and has extensively worked across medical-surgical, interventional, clinical diagnostics, infectious diseases, ophthalmology, and nutrition domains. Probir has been with Terumo Corporation since 2012 and is currently responsible for overseeing its operations across Asia Pacific and India. As the Regional Leader of Asia Pacific & India, he spearheads Terumo's investments into these emerging markets for purposeful talent and business strengthening, health system scaleup through various skill interventions, and driving the long-term strategy of Terumo in Asia Pacific. Given his keen interest in policy shaping, Probir is actively engaged in advocacy and sits on the Board of Directors for the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed) and Medical Technology Association of India (MTaI). Probir also has over a decade's teaching experience, specifically around strategy, leadership development, coaching and performance management. His passion towards MedTech sees him mentor start-ups and entrepreneurs. Probir resides in Singapore and is a frequent visitor to all of the Asia Pacific markets and Japan.

Shreya Bansal

During her association with FICCI, she was a part of the manufacturing division and was involved in conceptualizing capacity building workshops for industry, tracking key policy related and business developments and facilitating key policy dialogues among the members and regulators. Prior to this he was President of Johnson & Johnson's surgery business, Ethicon, where led a major turnaround in the US. This included the integration of five standalone businesses and the implementation of a new go-to-market model to address the rapidly changing needs of both clinicians and health care administrators. Tim is a global executive who, in addition to leading business transformations across multiple continents, builds strong teams that have a track record of customer orientated solutions, growth and leadership across the medical technology industry. He is a champion for the value of diversity, currently leading the company's diversity and inclusion efforts across Asia Pacific. Zoey Ma

Before joining APACMed, Zoey accumulated valued experience in translation, interpreting, and program operation as an intern in ByteDance and she also had considerable bi-lingual translation and event promotion practice back to university times. She is now committed to assisting advocacy programs and events, maintaining membership, and promoting exchanges between the government and the industry. Zoey holds a master's degree in translation and interpreting from Beijing Language and Culture University. Kamalesh joined APACMed in January 2024. He helps out in all financial, administrative, IT and operations for the Association. Before joining APACMed, he has been in a few roles in the Public & Healthcare Sector, performing diverse roles in both the HR and Finance spectrum, gaining a few experiences in them. Kamalesh graduated from Singapore Institute of Management with a bachelor's in business & management.
