DATA SCIENCE

The International Conference on Data Science (ICDS) is initiated from the International Workshop on Dataology and Data Science proposed by Prof. Yangyong Zhu (Fudan University) in Shanghai at 2010. Its main purpose is to investigate the characteristics of data, the foundations, theoretical issues, research methods of dataology and data science. Subsequently it's been successfully held at Chinese Academy of Sciences (2011), Yunnan University (2012), and Fudan University (2013). In 2014, Prof. Yangyong Zhu, Prof. Yong Shi, Prof. Chengqi Zhang, Prof. Wei Huang and Prof. Philip S. Yu collaborated to promote the workshop to International Conference on Data Science (ICDS). In the same year, Prof. Yong Shi (Chinese Academy of Sciences) founded the journal Annals of Data Science.
