GAIL REID

Gail Reid is an artist creating contemporary metal vessels. She explores the use of patinas, kiln and torch fired enamel to emphasize shape and texture... My artwork is the product of contrasting methods. Raising requires focus on fully controlling the movement of the metal, while enamel has a different pace and a pattern of observation and response. I watch the interplay between the copper oxides and the glass and choose how much to affect that process. The results may be harder to predict, but the reward is a dynamic means for expressing ideas.
