Read More Alex Andrew Bohm, known to all as Andrew, a beloved professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine, suddenly passed away on August 28, 2023. He was born in 1965 in New York City to parents Susan and Alex Bohm and received his PhD from UC Berkeley, where he met his wife, Celia Harrison. The two had been married since 1996 and lived in Boston for over 25 years. Andrew was an avid reader, cyclist, and sailor, and he loved to build and fix things himself whenever he could. His contributions to Tufts as a researcher, professor, advisor, colleague, and friend to everyone were immeasurable (read here https://medicine.tufts.edu/news-events/news/passing-andrew-bohm-professor-and-postdoctoral-officer). He leaves behind his wife Celia, his grown children Remy and Gil Bohm, his mother Susan Bohm and his siblings Matt Bohm, Monica Morrison, and Cliff Bohm, and many other family members, friends, and colleagues who cherished him. Read More Anne Marie "ReRe" Claflin of Newton, passed away October 13, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. Beloved wife of high school sweetheart Donald F. Claflin. Born and raised in Dorchester, she and Donald raised a family of 6 children in Newton. The loving mother of Donny and his wife Sandra, George and his wife Suzanne, Ellen, Richard and his wife Diane, Brian and Chris. A proud grandmother to Shannon, Brendan, Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Kevin, Craig, James, Ryan, Erin, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Patrick, Caroline, Colin, Emily, Molly, Sarah, Connor, Shane, Kyle, and great-grandmother to Vivienne, Callum, Charlotte, Andrew, Ava, and Amelia. Dear sister of Rosemary "RoRo" O'Neil, she was predeceased by siblings Edward Youngclaus and Denise Hattenburg. Mrs. C was a mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, but always had room in her heart to make everyone who passed through Dexter Road feel like family. Even life's smallest moments, she celebrated in a big way. She was a 1962 graduate of Boston State and a proud member of the Newton North Athletic Hall of Fame.

Read More Devin Atwell, a resident of Maplewood of Weston, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the age of 63. Devin is survived by his mother, Marguerite Atwell of Naples, FL, his sister, Carol Caporizzo, and her husband, Bill Caporizzo of Boston, and his niece, Olivia Caporizzo of San Francisco. He was the son of late Thomas C. Atwell, Jr. of Warren, PA. We are heart broken by the loss of Devin. Devin loved Ireland and was always enthusiastic about sharing his ideas about life. Even though Devin had special needs he embraced life. He enjoyed Formula One race cars, kittens, puppies, fishing and an occasional Guinness! He was very happy spending his days with the residents at Maplewood of Weston. The staff loved him for his positive outlook on life and the sharing of his vivid imagination. Devin was one of a kind and will be sorely missed and often thought about with great affection. We have loving memories of Devin greeting his Sissy and Big Brother Bill! Thank you for the kindness and generosity you have shown to our family - it is much appreciated.

Stephen E. Prince

Stephen E. Prince, a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 30, 2023, at the age of 63. He was born on May 2, 1960, in Newton, MA, to Edward and Helen Prince. Stephen dedicated many years of his life as a Family Co-Owner at Diamond Bakery/Deli. After the business was sold, he found fulfillment working in security. Stephen's great work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were evident throughout his career. Growing up, Stephen practiced faith at Our Lady Church in Newton, MA. He found joy in attending church services, including being altar boy, and being part of a supportive community. Stephen had a wide range of interests, including a passion for all sports. Whether it was watching a game or participating, he found excitement and camaraderie in the world of sports. He also cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Karen Prince, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Amanda Stevens (Ryan) of Delray Beach, FL, and Megan Prince of Hendersonville, NC, Also, brand-new addition, his grandson, Grayson Stevens. He is also survived by his sisters, Maura Prince of Milford, MA, and Deirdre Sok (Chea) of Framingham, MA, and his brother, John Prince of Boston, MA. Stephen leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Brian Prince (Blair) of Austin, TX, Kaitlyn Sok of Framingham, MA, Ashley Sok of Framingham, MA, and C.J. Sok of Framingham, MA. Also, his great nephew, Brayson Prince of Austin, TX. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Prince, as well as his sister Catherine Prince and brother David Prince. Their memories will forever be cherished. A memorial gathering to celebrate Stephen's life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 12-3PM at Burke and Blackington Funeral Home in Newton, MA. In honor of Stephen, memorial contributions can be made to the American Liver Association or Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville, NC. Stephen E. Prince will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a hardworking individual, and a loyal friend. His warmth, kindness, and love will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Yu of West Newton, MA passed away in his sleep peacefully on September 25th. Tony was the beloved husband of Lisa Yu, loving father of Brittany and Raymond Yu, dear brother of Stephen Yu, Sophia Matsas, and Selina Sekka, and adored youngest child of his mother, Kit Wan Yu, and late father, Sing Cheung Yu. Tony's devoted love to his family and children was exemplary, and he loved spending time with his family on vacations. He loved entertaining them by singing Chinese songs and talking about the latest Korean drama that he was watching. Tony was an avid sports fan of all Boston teams, and he enjoyed playing hockey with his friends in his youth, playing tennis with his family, and regularly doing cardio and weightlifting at the gym. He was a dear colleague and friend to many who interacted with him. With a computer engineering degree from Boston University under a full scholarship, he has been working as a software engineer at Nova Biomedical in Waltham, MA for over 30 years. His vibrant work ethics and accomplishments were well regarded. With his unexpected passing, he will be truly missed but will be fondly remembered.

Read More Victoria Vitelli Guilford passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the age of 96. Victoria was the loving daughter of the late James and Madeline Dalton Vitelli and predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Samuel H. Guilford. She is survived by her beloved children: Mark Guilford and his wife Linda, Suzanne G. Lopez and her husband Richard, Sheila Guilford and Steven Guilford; grandchildren: Kristen B. Toomey and her husband Neal, Charles M. Burke, Jenna V. Burke, Ruth G. Evans and her husband Michael, Matthew W. Lopez and his wife Bridget, Christopher J. Lopez and his wife Kayla and great grandchildren: James, Stella, Vivian, Kylah, Luca, Clara, Rosalie, Sylvia, and Desmond. She was the dear sister to the late James A. Vitelli, Jr, Barbara Levine, Dorothea Vitelli, and Madeline Vitelli. Victoria was born and raised in Newton, MA in a large family with her brother and 3 sisters. Her hometown of Newton remained a special place in her heart. After her marriage, she spent years living on Martha's Vineyard with her young family and most of the remainder of her life in Cambridge, MA. She continued to return to Martha's Vineyard over the years and reveled in its seaside beauty. Victoria was a reserved and proper individual who exhibited elegant style and grace and had many of the qualities of a "proper Bostonian". She was a kind, loving, and strong individual who greatly impacted the lives around her. She spoke warmly of her children, grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She always beamed with pride when she heard of their active lives and achievements, and viewed the many photos shared of her growing family. After her husband passed away, she accepted a position at Lord and Taylor's in Boston where she remained for 20 years until retiring at age 80. She thoroughly enjoyed her time working in the Boston area. She made many friends who continued to correspond with her after her retirement. She was humbled by the many customer letters and awards she received with praise for her kind and gracious demeanor with all customers. In her advanced years, she remained interested in current events, enjoyed old TV movies and mystery shows, and her half glass of wine or a cup of tea at the end of the day. Visiting hour will be held in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. West Newton Thursday, September 21, 22023, from 10-11AM concluding with a prayer service at 11AM and followed by interment in Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Victoria's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/ Vitelli is a name that can be found back to 1400. And Victoria had a brother who is mentioned on Watertown st at the Italian memorial or what they affectionately call the Lake. He was Sgt James Vitelli Jr also a fine gentleman like her father. He was lost a the battle of Bataan.

Walsh, a longtime resident of Auburndale, passed away Friday, August 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 61 years of Catherine E Walsh, he was the loving father of James Walsh and his wife Jennifer of Milford, MA, and Kevin Walsh and his wife Carol of Ashland, MA; devoted grandfather of Michael Walsh and his wife Leah of Longmeadow, MA, Timothy Walsh and his fiancé Brittany Hill of Grafton, MA, Marisa Walsh and her fiancé Will Moriarty and Kyle Walsh as well as great-granddaughter Evelyn. Son of the late Elden & Jean Walsh, he was the dear brother of Mary Duffy and Shirley McHugh and the late John & Robert Walsh. Mr. Walsh worked for over 30 years as an operator for the MBTA. He will be remembered as truly good person who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
