Ami E. Curci - President

Ami was born and raised here in Burleson, Texas. She moved to CA in the late 1980's, and then to Hawaii a short time later, where she owned and operated one of the more popular restaurants on Kauai. She sold the restaurant after the birth of her first child, and moved back to Northern CA. Her involvement in the insurance industry began in the San Francisco Bay area 1999, when she started out working as an assistant in the policy issuance department for one of the largest insurers in the U.S. She gradually worked her way into the underwriting department, first as an assistant, and eventually working her way up to the position of Senior Enterprise Risk Analyst. She decided to return to Texas in 2011, and founded Logistics Insurance Concepts in 2012, where she specialized in fleet driven accounts. She recognized the need to expand her resources, and in 2014 she merged her agency with SWZ Insurance, assuming the role of President. Ami lives on a ranch close to Grandview, TX with her husband and her son, and has 2 grown children.

Charity Stuart

Charity grew up in the Dallas area and has more than 20 years of insurance experience, with the vast majority of that time focusing on the trucking and transportation industry. Additionally, she has served as Director of Safety and Compliance in one of the largest trucking companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. She prides herself in her vast knowledge and understanding of the operations and challenges which trucking companies face on a day to day basis. It is not uncommon for our clients to call her for advice on state filings, reporting requirements, and creative ways to stay in compliance. Many of our clients have used her expertise to help them set up sister companies, and she handles everything from creation of the new entity, to filing all appropriate paperwork with the various regulatory bodies which oversee the trucking industry. It is not uncommon for our clients to make the comment that she provides the best service that they have ever had from an insurance agency or broker. Charity lives with her husband and 2 children in Burleson, TX, and enjoys vacationing in the mountains when she has free time.

Chris Sailors - SVP

SWZ Insurance is excited to welcome Chris Sailors to our team of experts. Chris heads our Houston office, and has been charged with helping SWZ become a leader in the fourth most populous city in the United States. Chris brings deep insurance experience to our company, and was the obvious choice based on his outstanding resume and stellar reputation in the industry. Chris is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. After spending parts of his childhood in both Little Rock, AR and Kansas City, MO, he settled in Houston in the late 1980's. A graduate of Texas Christian University's Neely School of Business, Chris has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry. He spent the first 12 years of his insurance career as an agent with Dean & Draper Insurance in Houston. During that time he developed a well-rounded skill set which included expertise in Personal Lines P&C, Commercial Lines P&C, and both individual and group Life, Health and Benefits coverage. In 2009, Chris decided to leave the safety of the large retail insurance world, and ventured out on his own, starting his own retail insurance agency. Chris proved that he was a natural in the highly-competitive Houston, Texas market, building a very successful agency which was recognized by his partner carriers for exceptional growth, performance and profitability. His primary focus has always been on Commercial Property and Casualty business, and is highly regarded in this field due to his breadth of knowledge and experience. Chris has become a trusted advocate for his clients across many industries, including: Construction; Dealership/Garage Liability; Healthcare; Manufacturing; Oil & Gas/Energy; Professional Services; Real Estate; Retail; Transportation; and Wholesale & Distribution. He currently lives in Houston with his wife and three children. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, and following college football.

Gary Taylor - VP

Gary has a long and valued relationship with the owners and management team at SWZ Insurance. Gary has been in the insurance industry since the early 2000's, and has focused on commercial Property & Casualty insurance since 2006. Gary is a native of the DFW Metroplex and previously worked for J.D. Tanner & Associates for several years as a senior sales representative, followed by 12 years with Visosky Insurance in senior management. Gary has deep knowledge of the Trucking and Transportation industry, and has also spent a considerable amount of time working in the Medical field, working with hospitals, doctors and dentists. An avid golfer, Gary is known to spend time on the links getting better acquainted with many of his clients, and fostering a trusted relationship with those same clients. Many of our clients comment that Gary is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable agents with whom they have ever worked. This is a testament to Gary's love of people and his expertise in the insurance industry. Gary is a natural problem solver, and loves to help clients understand their exposures and then mitigate risk with thorough, yet easy to understand insurance solutions

Jon Tanner - EVP

Jon is a lifelong Texan with more than 28 years of experience in the insurance industry. After graduating from Baylor University in 1991, Jon entered the insurance industry as an agent with the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies in 1992. He quickly gravitated toward commercial property and casualty insurance, and began specializing in the hospitality industry. In 1996, Jon expanded his agency's focus into trucking and transportation, ultimately becoming the top producer with Farmers Insurance Group in the entire country for 3 consecutive years. In 1999, Jon decided to expand his knowledge and understanding of the complex coverage required by the trucking industry, and began work on his law degree. He left Farmers Insurance during this time for the independent agency world, and graduated with his Juris Doctor degree in 2003. During his 28-plus year career in the insurance industry, Jon has won numerous awards and served on the board of various companies and councils. He is a multi-year Commercial Round Table qualifier, and was a member of the Farmers Insurance President's Council of Agents, which is the most prestigious award of the company. He has served as a Senior Vice President for one of the largest retail insurance agencies in the country, and as a wholesale broker for one of the largest wholesale brokers in the country. Jon combines a deep understanding and many years of experience to a number of fleet-driven industries, including: agribusiness; fuel distribution, wholesale and marketing; food and food products processing, wholesale and distribution; and trucking and transportation. Jon is happily married and has 3 children. His oldest daughter is also a Baylor graduate, who has obtained both her undergraduate and Master's degrees from Baylor University. His son attended Texas Tech University and now works for Park Place Mercedes in Dallas, and his youngest daughter is an avid golfer who currently attends Baylor University and is a member of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce. Needless to say, Jon is a rabid fan of the Baylor Bears, and can be sighted in Waco throughout the year.

Lorena Vasquez

Lorena is our bi-lingual trucking and transportation specialist that specializes in our NAFTA, Cross-Border and Hispanic owned and operated trucking and transportation accounts. She has 9 years insurance experience specializing in complex property and casualty accounts. She was raised in Texas and recently relocated from San Antonio, Texas to Fort Worth. Lorena is the proud mother of two children and in her spare time enjoys acting.

Ronnie D. Tanner

Ronnie, or Ron, is a lifelong Fort Worth, TX resident, and has spent his entire career in the insurance industry. After attending Texas Christian University (TCU), Ron began work as an agent in the life and financial services industry, first with John Hancock Financial, before moving to Gulf Atlantic Life, where he was Regional Sales Director. After spending roughly 10 years in the life and financial services industry, he made his move to the property and casualty industry when he accepted a job as a Regional Sales Director for Millers Mutual Fire Insurance Company which was based in Fort Worth, TX. Part of his job with Millers was to visit with the independent agency force, and it didn't take long for him to purchase an interest in an established insurance agency in Decatur, TX. As one of two principals in the largest independent agency in Wise County, Ron quickly established himself as one of the most trusted voices in the insurance industry in North Texas. In the late 1980's, and into the early 1990's, Ron purchased two more established independent agencies in Tarrant County, Texas, and continued building both his knowledge and customer base. Since entering the property and casualty side of the insurance industry, Ron has specialized in personal lines and commercial lines insurance for small businesses throughout Texas. He brings more than 45 years of experience to the firm, and has served in various positions in the industry, including sitting on the board of the "Big I" here in Texas during the 1980's. Ron is happily married to his wife of 45 years, and resides in Fort Worth, TX.
