ROSE & CROWN

The Rose & Crown was built in the 1600s with many of the original features remaining including wooden beams and open fires. Our aim is to make people feel the way we like to feel when we enter a pub. "Warm and friendly" is what we would like people to say when asked to describe us... Our food is classically English. We use only locally sourced produce and maintain a fresh focus on what we serve. Pub Classics live alongside a Specials board at weekends. Our broad menu is changed at least four times a year... We are a free house and an accredited Cask Marque pub serving three real ales. Our two staple beers being Harvey's of Lewis, in Sussex, and a local ale called Native brewed by the Whitstable brewery based just 2 miles down the road at Grafty Green. Our third pump is for guest ales and we rotate the beer every month or so. Towards the end of August, we have our annual Beer & Music Festival with one whole day of music, guest beers, ciders and food.
