Wine barrels, typically made from a Canadian, French or American oak are used by wineries to impart a beautiful flavor into their wine. The barrels have a lifespan for wine making of 3-5 years and after that do not infuse their oak flavors into the wine. At this point they are discarded, but here at Vinoptuous we see the beauty, the potential , the story and the quality these materials offer…... We strive to hand make useful and beautiful items from these and other natural materials where they may not have originally been considered.
