Alan J. Canzano

Alan Canzano has spent more than fifteen years in the technology industry, originally as an investment banker to tech companies, then as a product leader at Salesforce (formerly Demandware), and now at EngageSmart as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy. EngageSmart creates vertically-tailored customer engagement and integrated payments solutions that drive engagement between its customers and their clients. Mr. Canzano has extensive experience in traditional software, SaaS and cloud businesses related to the retailing, ecommerce, consumer analytics, and supply chain industries. An experienced executive, he has owned full P&L responsibility of both an independent financial services provider and the operating division of a national public accounting firm. Prior to EngageSmart and Salesforce, Mr. Canzano was a co-founder and Managing Director of Cronus Partners. He has broad experience as a technology banker with particular expertise in enterprise application software, including for the supply chain and retailing industries. His transaction experience includes the sale of public and private companies, acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, leveraged recapitalizations and other capital raises. Previously, Mr. Canzano was with Goldman Sachs in its Merger and Strategic Advisory group and worked on numerous investment banking assignments in the B2B services sector and in logistics and supply chain management. Andrea Chase

Andrea Chase has extensive experience in the energy and industrial sectors and leads the firm's efforts in marketing and business development. A former Vice President at J.P. Morgan and a senior member of the energy and power group, she was responsible for marketing advisory services and leading execution teams. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Ms. Chase was a Vice President at Commercial Union Capital Group in project finance and development. Immediately prior to joining Cronus, she created and ran a financial, managerial and marketing consulting company for the not-for-profit sector. Aurel Serani

Charles R. Carson

Charlie Carson has extensive experience in environmental and industrial services, process control, and instrumentation and monitoring systems. Prior to co-founding Cronus Partners, he co-founded and spent 15 years as a financial advisor to middle-market companies at Quirk Carson Peppet. Mr. Carson also served as a principal with a $125 million private equity fund formed by Churchill Capital and as Vice President and Treasurer of City Investing Company, an $8 billion conglomerate. He began his finance career at Citibank, where he was also a Vice President. Mr. Carson served as an officer in the United States Army. Charlie Agreda

Charlie Agreda is the former President and Owner of Evolution Aero located in South Windsor, CT and Condor Industries located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After 39 years in the aerospace industry, he retired in 2019, selling both companies to The Whitcraft Group, and is now the owner of Golden Gears Car Club. Evolution and Condor provide high quality machining services and the production of rigid tube assemblies in a wide array of exotic materials servicing the aerospace and power generation industries. The companies utilize the latest technologies to bring a job from concept to completion with 3-D Prototyping, including additive manufacturing using direct metal laser sintering, 3-D plastic modeling, precision CNC milling, turning, water jet, EDM and tube bending. Mr. Agreda began his career in 1980 as a tool room apprentice working alongside his father at a machine shop in East Hartford, CT. Over the next several years, he became a department supervisor for the CNC milling department and moved to a new company as Operations Manager. In 1987, he rejoined forces with his family at C&P Machine Co. which had been established in 1980 as a 2,500 square foot facility in South Windsor, CT. In 1997, the company built a 9,000 square foot facility, expanding to 14,500 square feet in 2001. In 2008, Mr. Agreda acquired Empire Manufacturing of Bridgeport, CT, and in 2010, Aero Tube Technologies was formed to purchase the assets of Tube Bends, Inc. in Newington, CT. In 2011, he consolidated the three companies into a 98,000 square foot facility and rebranded as Evolution Aero - Where Innovation Takes Shape. Mr. Agreda serves on the Foundation Board of Goodwin University, and from 2014 - 2017, served on the Foundation Board for Manchester Community College. In 2012, he initiated a plan to partner with local educational institutions to develop a workforce to meet the demand of the industry. Mr. Agreda believes that introducing people to manufacturing and engineering trades, educating them on the industry, and allowing them to witness the opportunities available first hand can influence them to enter these fields. Edwin J. Kilpela

Most recently, Mr. Kilpela was President and CEO of Soil Safe, Inc. with total profit and loss responsibility for a market-leading provider of soil treatment and placement services, serving commercial real estate, infrastructure development, and industrial customers. He transitioned the company from a 100% family-owned and operated business to a professional enterprise. Under Mr. Kipela's leadership, EBITDA more than doubled and the company was sold at a 4.6x return to investors. Previously, he was President of Noxso Corporation, a technology development company in the environmental air pollution control industry, and President of Ansaldo Ross Hill Corporation, an automation equipment company. Mr. Kilpela also spent 30 years at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, last as General Manager, Environmental Services Divisions, a full-service environmental business with annual revenues of $500 million and 4,000 employees at 20 major locations in the U.S. and Europe, providing services for the management of hazardous, radioactively contaminated, and municipal solid waste. Prior to this position, he was General Manager, International Operations and Vice President, International Marketing and Sales. Mr. Kilpela is a Board member of PDG Environmental, Inc. and Brother's Brother Foundation and an Advisory Board member of several private equity groups. He was affiliated with the Westinghouse Chairman's Forum (limited to the 50 top corporation executives) from 1993 - 1996 and with the Environmental Technology Council Executive Committee from 1992 - 1995. James J. Hattler

Jim Hattler has been involved in the environmental services industry since 1974 and is a seasoned business executive with experience in financial analysis, M&A, strategic planning, sales, marketing, and IT, having served in various senior level positions throughout his career with both large and small corporate organizations. Currently, he is President and Chief Executive Officer of Nickel City Ventures, Inc. (Nickel City), a company he founded in 2000 to aid clients seeking to leverage his diverse environmental services background and access to a network of private capital contacts that specialize in the environmental funding sector.

Jeffrey S. Rubin - CEO

Jeff Rubin leads the firm's efforts in manufacturing and B2B services, with an extensive operational background in heavy industry. He is also an experienced technology banker. Prior to co-founding Cronus Partners, Mr. Rubin served as Co-Managing Partner of Windsor Group Securities. Previously, he had been Vice Chairman of Vanstar Corporation, Executive Vice President of Nynex Corporation, and Senior Vice President for Planning and Development of GTE. John J. Quirk

John Quirk leads the firm's efforts in the environmental and maritime transportation and logistics sectors. He was previously a member of the Cronus Board of Advisors and a Director of Corporate Development for Donjon Marine Co., Inc., a family-owned marine service company involved in marine transportation, dredging, salvage, wreck removal, heavy lift services and shipbuilding and repair. He is a seasoned financial executive having worked almost twenty years in various financial positions at two major international corporations, City Investing Company and W.R. Grace & Co. At City Investing, he held the position of Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Fiscal Officer. Mr. Quirk also has over twenty years' experience in the environmental industry, including both investment banking and private equity. Prior to joining one of his former investment banking clients, Donjon Marine, in 2009, he spent eight years as a Managing Director of Morgan Joseph, an investment bank targeting middle market companies. At Morgan Joseph, Mr. Quirk headed the firm's environmental practice which focused principally on companies in solid waste, hazardous waste, waste transportation, recycling, alternative energy, air and water. He was also a co-founder of an investment bank that specialized in the environmental sector, a co-general partner of the Environmental Opportunities Fund, and a Principal of Churchill Capital's $125 million Environmental Equity Fund. Kenneth C. Leung - Managing Director

Ken Leung has had a long career providing advisory and financial services to private and public companies in solid waste, hazardous waste, recycling, nuclear, engineering and consulting, and air and water pollution. Mr. Leung was named an "All-Star Analyst" by Institutional Investor for 21 years, and as Chief Investment Officer for Environmental Opportunities Fund I and II, which represented $113 million of private equity funds, he provided seed capital for such companies as Eastern Environmental Services, subsequently sold to Waste Management, as well as IESI and Capital Environmental Resources, both now part of Waste Connections. In addition to having served as editor of both Environmental Review and Pollution Control Monthly, he has written extensively for various environmental publications and been a frequent speaker at environmental and financial conferences. Before joining Cronus, Mr. Leung was a Managing Director and the Head of Environmental Services at Wunderlich Securities and Madison Williams, and prior to 1994, he was a Managing Director at Smith Barney, focusing on environmental investment research. Mark Spano was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of PM Recovery Inc., a metal trading and physical brokerage firm headquartered in Harrison, NY with regional offices in Dallas TX, Portland OR, Charleston SC, Mystic CT, New Castle PA, and Althofen, Austria. The company was sold in 2016. He was previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PM Kalco, a specialty metals and alloys manufacturer and worldwide supplier to the investment casting, aerospace, dental, and medical industries; Chairman of PM Metals and Carbides, a metals recycling company; Director of IPMR-International Precious Metal Refiners, an American-Emerati partnership in Abu Dhabi to refine gold and silver mining feed; and Chairman of Duratherm Inc., a hazardous waste treatment and disposal facility in San Leandro TX, processing oil and residual refinery secondary materials and metal catalysts for the oil refinery industry. Michael Persico

Mike Persico is a Managing Member of Minerva Advisors, continuing his participation as a Board Director or Senior Advisor to remediation, transportation, and disposal businesses.
