BROOKLANDS CARE HOME - Key Persons

Karen Willimott

Job Titles:
  • Manager
Karen has over 20 years' healthcare experience, having started her career in domiciliary care in 1998. After several years spent working as a carer, Karen was promoted to the role of team leader managing and overseeing care in the community. It was this impactful work that inspired her move to residential care, as Deputy Manager in a care home. Karen then joined Brooklands in 2014 bringing with her a wealth of experience working with older people and their families and leading teams. She holds an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care. Speaking about her role, Karen says: "I get great satisfaction knowing I've made the residents happy, and supported and developed the team to truly make a difference, every day. I love spending time with my residents, especially those with dementia. The connection you can forge is priceless." Karen was born and bred in Norfolk and lives locally to Brooklands. In fact, Karen loves Brooklands so much, her husband Jamie joined her here, first as our mini bus driver taking our residents out on their many adventures, and now more recently as part of our Lifestyle Team. Karen and Jamie first met at school and were childhood sweethearts. They reconnected later in life and now have three children and six grandchildren, whom she absolutely adores. When she is not at Brooklands, Karen loves to travel and next on her list is Morocco! She is also busy studying for her Level 7 in Health and Social Care Management. Our home manager, Karen is here to help you and your family.
