Adrienne McGrattan

Job Titles:

Adrienne joined the Wheels Project in 2019. She brings a wealth of experience over a number of different industry sectors.

David Glossop

Job Titles:
  • General Manager
David has been with The Wheels Project since its inception in 1984. David has a degree in Statistics, is an ex-Probation Officer and has a history in sport and outward bound. He is responsible for the overall management and development of The Wheels Project. He is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. He reports Quarterly to its Board of Trustees.

David Smithen

Job Titles:
  • Secretary
David is a Partner with TLT in Bristol where he advises on development agreements of all types, from strategic site acquisition through to the development phase. He has led on major urban regeneration, joint-venture and development projects, working closely with TLT's specialist planning, tax and construction teams. He joined the Board of The Wheels Project in 2013 and became Secretary in July upon the resignation of Nick Pritchard who had been Wheels' Secretary since its inception.

Jerry Farrance

Job Titles:
  • Workshop Manager
Jerry has been working with The Wheels Project since 1997 on and off as a volunteer and then a part-time basis. He is a fully trained mechanic and recently retired form lecturing in Motor Vehicle Studies at the City of Bristol College. Jerry has taken on the role of Workshop Manager full time since August 2017 and is enjoying being part of a smaller team putting his experience and knowledge to great use.

Nick Adams - Treasurer

Upon graduation from University in 2001, Nick joined PricewaterhouseCoopers where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Joining Avon and Somerset Constabulary in 2008, Nick has been the Head of Finance for this organisation during a period of unprecedented financial change. He is married to a secondary school teacher and has a young family who occupy much of his spare time. Nick joined the Board of The Wheels Project in 2013.

Rachael Wheatley

Rachael is Managing Director of Watertight Business Thinking, a company which provides training, development and coaching in strategic marketing. Her career has been in marketing and business development, working for companies and heading up their marketing teams before setting up her own business in 2009. She joined the Board of The Wheels Project in 2015.

Sarah Crew - Chairman

Sarah Crew became Chair of the Trustees of The Wheels Project in 2015. Sarah joined Avon and Somerset Constabulary in September 1994. Originally posted to Broadbury Road Police Station in South Bristol, Sarah performed various roles in uniform and CID within Bristol until her promotion to Detective Chief Inspector in 2004. As a Detective Chief Inspector and then as a Detective Superintendent in charge of Bristol CID, Sarah led several large investigations and change initiatives within Bristol including the introduction of Operation Beacon, a task force focused on reducing the impact of drug supply within the city's communities. In 2011 Sarah was appointed the commander of the South Gloucestershire policing area and in 2013 led a major change programme to design and implement a new operating model for the Constabulary. Sarah was appointed Deputy Chief Constable in June 2017. She is also Chair of the Avon & Somerset Local Residence Forum and Anti-Slavery Partnership.

Steve Beese

Job Titles:

Steve joined The Wheels Project in September 2017 after 20 years working at City of Bristol College. Previously Steve worked in two independent garages after completing his apprenticeship in a main car dealer garage.
