Before joining Ahtna as Vice President of Human Resources, Doug served in a variety of senior management positions with the Alaska Native Tribal Heath Consortium (ANTHC). His leadership experience included roles as Director of Human Resources and Chief Workforce Officer. During his tenure with ANTHC, he built comprehensive human resource programs for over 2,200 employees. Doug brings over 20 years of human resources expertise to the Ahtna management team and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources, and a Master of Health Administration.

Mr. Bovee oversees the realty portion of the Land Department, including easements and rights of way, sand and gravel contracts, land subdivision, property leases, land purchases, ANCSA 14(c) adjudication, and compliance. The Vice President also deals directly with the merged villages to address merger-related, surface-estate issues. Ahtna's Lands Department oversees and coordinates the management of surface lands by villages under contract with the Land Department. In addition, Mr. Bovee is responsible for evaluating, inventorying, and aggressively promoting and marketing the Corporation's natural resources.
Joe Bovee has more than 30 years of resource management experience. As the Vice President of Land and Resources, Joe oversees the nearly 1.8 million acres of Ahtna's land in Southcentral Alaska. Prior to joining Ahtna, Joe worked for various state and federal agencies and private sector natural resource companies. Joe's career has focused on operations, regulatory policy, and responsible development. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Certificate of Forestry from the University of Alaska-Kenai Peninsula Campus.

Raised in the Ahtna region, Michelle graduated from Glennallen High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Master of Arts in Rural Development from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

's General Counsel, Nicholas is responsible for the Company's legal and corporate compliance matters. He joined Ahtna in 2017 and brings extensive legal expertise to the Ahtna management team. Before joining Ahtna, Nicholas worked at an Alaska law firm where he represented Alaska Native Corporations and others on a broad range of topics, including ANCSA, natural resources, real estate, corporate governance, and litigation. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctorate from the Seattle University School of Law.
