Abby Orr

Abby graduated from the University of Birmingham with First Class Honours in BSc Physiotherapy in 2023. She is a qualified sports massage therapist and currently works as a Physio in the NHS in a variety of departments such as respiratory, intensive care, neurology and the emergency department. Abby has an interest in musculoskeletal injuries. She assisted in a private practice in Saint Lucia and worked with their national rugby team. She helped athletes at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She is a keen sports person, previously swimming at national level, playing hockey for her district and competing at Scottish gymnastics. Abby is a cheerful, motivated and understanding individual that looks forward to helping you.

Allan Wu

Allan has become renowned in his field through dedication to strength and conditioning for professional athletes, music artists, and clients at Equinox fitness clubs where he was a top ranking personal trainer in Canada. He is qualified with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Western University and has recently attained his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Brunel University London. His comprehensive achievements thus far include basketball and sportsmanship awards from his early years, managing a team of trainers during college, and preparation for key players on team Canada for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Allan is determined to apply his interdisciplinary skills towards the physiotherapy profession to best help those he works with at Atherapy.

Clare Smith

Clare has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the industry having worked alongside our CEO Dave Hancock since 2002. At the heart of Atherapy, she oversee's a wide range of administrative tasks ranging from the account management to centralised booking throughout the group. Clare is often the first point of contact for our new clients so she looks forward to welcoming and speaking to you soon and making your experience at Atherapy an excellent one.

Dave Hancock - CEO, Founder

Dave is our founder and CEO of Atherapy. His CV has taken him to be the Head Physiotherapist of Leeds United Football Club, Chelsea Football Club and the Performance Director of the New York Knicks Basketball Team. Has has over 22 years of experience as a physio, strength coach and Director of Performance working at the highest level in rugby, football and basketball. He is a certified PT both in the UK and the USA. He is a qualified strength coach and holds two Masters degrees in Sports Exercise Medicine and Manipulation. Dave was the first British physio to be recruited full time for six years by an NBA franchise as a Performance Director. He has also attended the 2010 Soccer World Cup and the 2012 European Finals. Working for the English Senior Men's National soccer team for five years. Dave has lectured all around the world, published many medical /scientific papers on ACL rehabilitation and sports injuries, he is also a member of the Nike Performance Board (USA). Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and you the client, having worked with some of the world's top Athletes, Actors and Musicians. Denzil Jewell

Denzil graduated from the Auckland university of technology in 2015 with a bachelors in health science majoring in Physiotherapy. Whilst living in New Zealand he spent 8 years working in private practice gaining a wealth of experience in a variety of different areas of Physiotherapy including; Sports, Vocational, Rehabilitative, and Persistent pain management. He enhanced his knowledge in these areas after completing a Post-Graduate diploma in Musculoskeletal Management in 2022. He has a keen interest in upper limb injuries, particularly issues relating to the shoulder. Denzil's treatment philosophy revolves around treating the individual and not the condition, allowing him to utilize a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

Dimitrios Michtatidis

Dimitrios has completed his studies from the University of East London in 2017. He has vast experience working with elite athletes. He can manage all the musculoskeletal injuries especially for lower limp injuries. He uses manual therapy, soft tissue techniques and retraining muscle and joint loading. Dimitrios has a keen interest in football injuries as he has significant experience working with adult and teenager athletes. He also worked in private practice dealing with common injuries. Following a holistic approaching for the patients, ensuring their education of their injury and providing with a conditioning plan to achieve their goals.

James Ticehurst

James, a BHSc PHTY graduate from Auckland, New Zealand, sought overseas experience after finishing his degree. He worked in a private practice in North Shore, Auckland, treating musculoskeletal conditions. An avid rugby union fan, he volunteered with local clubs, gaining valuable experience. He later became the Senior men's physiotherapist for an Auckland club, providing rehabilitation and sideline management during games. Returning to the UK, James joined the private sector in London, treating a diverse range of issues. He completed a strength and conditioning foundation course, expanding his management skills. He has developed a strong network of health practitioners, ensuring comprehensive care. James emphasizes prevention alongside treatment, taking a holistic approach for optimal client outcomes.

Marco Nunez

Job Titles:
  • Director of West Coast Operations for Atherapy Entertainment / Atherapy LLC

Marco is the Director of West Coast Operations for Atherapy Entertainment / Atherapy LLC. Nunez' main responsibility is to coordinate and provide therapy and training for Atherapy's patients, athletes and celebrities in the West Coast. In addition, Nunez works closely with Dave Hancock, CEO, to coordinate between operations in London, New York City and Los Angeles. Nunez is also responsible for overseeing all Atherapy specialists in the West Coast. Marco currently consults with Strive Performance, a sports science wearable technological gear that allows to monitor an athlete's mechanical load, muscular balance and heart rate during training, practice, and games to help decrease the risk of injury and monitor athletes' progression. His role as a high-performance athletic trainer is to develop preventive assessment protocols, monitor athlete's workload and develop a continuous education program for athletic trainers, physical therapist, and performance coaches.

Marija Starasolska

After completing her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at the University of West of England, she started to pursue her Physiotherapy career by working as a pitch side first aider for Bristol Physio. Shortly after, she joined the NHS and worked in a variety of departments, such as elderly care, orthopaedics, emergency department, and respiratory.

Nick Ratcliffe

After graduating as a physiotherapist in Sydney in 2015, Nick worked in a private practice in southern Sydney treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions for a range of patients. During his time in Sydney Nick was appointed Head Physiotherapist for teams in Rugby League and Rugby Union, managing and coordinating the rehabilitation journey of athletes both teenager and adult from initial injury to return to sport. During this time he gained valuable sideline and in clinic experience, gaining further insight into injury prevention and sport specific management.

Raj Apoorv

Originally from India, Apoorv completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Delhi, India in 2019 with a first class Honours degree, before moving to the United Kingdom to complete his Masters in Exercise and Sports Medicine (Football) at University of Birmingham in 2021. Apoorv has also worked with the Indian paramilitary forces as their sports physiotherapist with a variety of sports teams such as Athletics, weight lifting, boxing, shooting, swimming etc. With experience of working in the NHS, Apoorv is also working as a part time physiotherapist with Chelsea Football Club. His main skills are sports injury management, sports taping and injury prevention.

Sam Downer

Sam graduated from the University of West England Bristol with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2010. With a desire to develop his knowledge further he took his education to the next level and completed a MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University London in 2019 and has an additional Level 4 qualification in Strength and Conditioning. Sam has worked extensively both in the NHS and private practice which has included independent sports injury clinics, global organisations such as BUPA and a prestigious private hospital in London. He has spent time working in Rugby and Cricket, including the England Women's Cricket first team, and high-level junior tennis players.

Stefanie Yeh

Originally hailing from Canada, Stefanie completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario in 2011, before moving to Australia to complete her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne in 2014. During this time, Stefanie worked as an Athletic Therapist within clinics in both Canada and Australia. She went on to continue her career in musculoskeletal injuries in Perth, Australia where she treated as a private physiotherapist whilst managing and leading a clinical team of rehab professionals, prior to moving to London in 2021.
