Familia de San José

While sisters may no longer minister there, the charism endures through the lives and works of a group of associates, the familia de San José (Spanish for the family of St. Joseph).

Mary M. McGlone

Mary M. McGlone, CSJ, a Denverite by birth, was received into the congregation in 1973 and made perpetual vows in 1978. She earned a doctorate in theology from St. Louis University in 1991 and has lived in various areas of the Southwest and Midwest in the United States and in Peru. Her ministry experience includes teaching, primarily in higher education; pastoral ministry; child care and professional writing. She has written two books on the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph in the United States. Sister Mary also writes a regular column for the National Catholic Reporter.

Patty Johnson

Patty Johnson, CSJ is a mission-driven professional with more than 30 years' experience as a senior or executive manager, a flexible and creative planner who develops outcomes-based plans that build in accountability, an active problem-solver who is willing to make hard decisions and an effective facilitator, assisting large groups with diverse goals to come to consensus to focus on specific projects and timelines. Before joining the Congregational Leadership Team, she most recently served as executive director of the U.S. Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph for eight years.

Sally Harper

Sally Harper, CSJ has been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 55 years. She served as a teacher of religion, speech and drama in high schools in Chicago and St. Louis before going to Peru in 1977. There, she taught religion and was a pastoral agent in parishes in both the coastal and mountain regions of Peru. She also taught theology to young people who were preparing for priesthood and religious life and served in leadership in our Peru Vice Province. Good friends and good books are blessings in her life.
