Started his corporate career with Eskom where he spent 19 years of his working life in industrial engineering moving up in the ranks to Engineering Projects Executive responsible for building power stations, transmission lines, substations, facilities and life-extension projects.
Joined Absa Banking Group as Group Executive in 1991. Retired from the Absa Group as Managing Executive: Real Estate Management on 31 October 2004. He served on the boards of the following institutions:

He is also an active member of Wildlife Ranching South Africa having served 2 terms as President. He is a wildlife rancher in the Vaalwater District, Lim popo Province.
