Connor Smith - President

Connor is local to Seattle and attended the University of Washington, majoring in Law, Economics, and Public Policy. He has held a variety of positions in different industries including food service, commercial real estate, and power tools. Connor joined Meyer Engineered Materials in 2022 after five years with Techtronic Industries and Milwaukee Power Tools. Connor began his career with the company as a sales manager in Seattle and ended as the Director of Purchasing for all Outsourced Milwaukee Power Tools at their global headquarters in Hong Kong. He managed a team of 16 people with direct oversight of over 75 suppliers in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Connor successfully grew the Outsourced Milwaukee business from $220M in 2020 to over $500M in 2021, despite the hardships of COVID and a strained global supply chain. While overseas he also met with the Prime Minister's office in Vietnam to lobby for the expansion of manufacturing, as well as a multi-billion-dollar construction project in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Connor loves to travel and is interested in computer technology. He has been to 47 out of 50 states in the US and has been to over 12 different countries. In his free time Connor enjoys building personal computers. His mission with MEM is to combine his passions with his professional experience and enable the development of the company's growth, quality, and efficiency strategies.

Darcy Meyer - Founder

Darcy is the majority owner and President of Meyer Engineered Materials (formerly Grind-All). He is an experienced Profession Engineer with over 30 years in the manufacturing industry and is an expert in Lean Manufacturing principles; being a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Darcy was one of the youngest General Managers ever appointed at International Paper, one of the world's leading producers of packaging. In his career, he managed such accounts as Nike, Boeing, and Kraft Heinz. Equipped with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Calgary, one of Canada's top engineering universities, and years of managing manufacturing plants, Darcy has been extremely successful in providing new and improved engineering solutions to his customers. Outside of MEM, Darcy is an avid and talented musician, outdoorsman, and runner. When COVID gave us lemons, Darcy made lemonade by hosting a socially distanced concert on his farm in Edmonton, a town in northern Alberta, Canada. Darcy has dedicated the last 15 years to fine tuning the craftmanship of precision grinding in the Greater Seattle area. He has used his 30 years of experience and intimate knowledge of the aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing industries to deploy quality improvements throughout the company and has maintained a near perfect quality record for the entirety of his ownership of Meyer Engineered Materials.

Joelle Meyer

Joelle is an accomplished Project Manager with a track record of managing 100+ projects at a time with multiple companies. She most recently elevated her career with an international position at Techtronic Industries (the parent company for Ryobi, Milwaukee, RIDGID, Hoover, and other leading power-tool brands). At TTI's global headquarters in Hong Kong, Joelle was rapidly promoted through the ranks and was managing global teams from the USA, Australia, and Europe; she facilitated the design, production, and launch of many Outdoor Power Equipment projects. Many of her projects are on the shelves at The Home Depot today! Joelle has an eye for design and passion for making the world a better place. Her crowning achievement in social improvement was raising over $1,000,000 for The Charles Lafitte Foundation in support of local children. She holds a BS in Business Management and has several years working in manufacturing. Joelle is now moving home from Hong Kong and taking a step into the family business at Meyer Engineered Materials. Her confidence and knowledge in operations, production, media, and design are all being employed by the company to improve efficiency and offerings to our customers.
