Meet Aya, a fun, lively individual from Japan who loves fashion, photography and socialising on weekends! Aya holds our current role of Assistant Manager. Aya was born in Sendai, Japan and came to Australia at age 26 to study English. Aya has extensive experience in hospitality and has worked at many of Brisbane's best cafes and restaurants, gaining impressive skills in bar work, fast service and great coffee. Aya is an experienced barista with exceptional skills and has taught many of our team members the art of making coffee that is beautiful in flavour and flair. Aya came to medley as a casual staff member and when the opportunity arose to step up into team leadership and restaurant management there was no better consideration.

Narayan Babu Thapa

His professional journey includes over a decade of service at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, followed by four years with Accor hotels, where he held pivotal positions such as Food and Beverage Duty Manager at The Sebel, Brisbane City. Furthermore, his tenure as Bar & Function Operations Manager at The Point Brisbane Hotel and roles as shift manager at Ahmets Turkish Restaurant and Bar Supervisor at The Spaghetti House Trattoria further enrich his versatile skill set. Having been involved with the establishment of the business in early 2015 it has been a challenging yet wonderful journey to date. Chef Saroj is originally from Nepal and started his journey here in Australia five years ago. He has been enjoying his journey and employment as a chef which have brought him great fulfillment. He loves challenges such as those in his culinary profession whereby he sets himself goals and works hard to achieve those goals. As a dedicated chef at Medley, you can find him infusing his passion and creativity into every dish. Always keen to learn everyday, being a part of our customers' dining experience and imparting his personal knowledge within the culinary team. With a love for sports, Saroj enjoys both watching and playing various sports. His curiosity extends beyond the culinary world, in which he maintains interest in astrophysics, constantly seeking to understand the mysteries of the universe. One of his revered theories is the 'string theory'.
