Brandon Mitchener is a former correspondent of 15 years for The Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune and Dow Jones Newswires in Germany and continues to write about EU policies, science, research and other topics. Carlos Härtel is chair of the board at Science|Business. He is chief technology officer of Climeworks, and an independent innovation-strategy advisor. He was previously chief technology and innovation officer of GE Europe, and president and CEO of the company's German subsidiary. He was also, from 2013 to 2017, president of the European Industrial Research Managers Association.

Edit is Director General of the strategic foresight consultancy company Vision & Values situated in Brussels. She is Chair of the Administrative Board of the European Union's Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). She is Senior EU Liaison Adviser to GÉANT and Senior Advisor at the Science Business Widening Initiative. She is Board member of Research Data Alliance Europe and former Member of the Global Council (2017-2023). She is co-chair of the RDA FAIR Data Maturity Model Working Group. She serves on the Board of the Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN). Prior to establishing her company, she served two consecutive terms in the European Parliament as a Member (MEP) (2004-2014). She served and worked on files in Committees regarding the budget, budgetary discharge, internal market, industry, research, energy and space policy. She also served on the governance of several parliamentary forums (European Energy Forum, European Internet Foundation, Knowledge 4 Innovation, Kangaroo Group etc.). Prior, she was member of the Hungarian Parliament in which role she was delegate to the Council of Europe. Before her political engagement, she worked in the private sector as regional (CEE) sales and technical manager for the specialty chemicals company, National Starch & Chemical (part of Unilever and later ICI). After her Master's at Columbia Journalism School, she covered New York's government for POLITICO and worked as an analyst for the watchdog company NewsGuard, addressing fake news and disinformation. She also ran two social and political investigations as a Fellow of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and the Dart Center on Journalism & Trauma. After completing a traineeship at the European Parliament in 2024, she started at Science|Business as a News Assistant. Rich has been a leading science and technology journalist for 40 years. In 2004 he co-founded London- and Brussels-based Science Business Publishing Ltd., a media and communications company focused on research and innovation in Europe. He is currently editorial director and vice chair of the Board of Directors. Previously, he was with the Wall Street Journal for 25 years in the US and Europe, as reporter, technology editor and, from 1997 to 2003, managing editor of the European edition. He began his career at the Boston Globe. He is co-author of a book, now a best-seller in 13 languages, on how bad math on Wall Street leads to big losses: "The (mis)Behavior of Markets: A fractal view of risk, ruin & reward." He wrote it with famed Yale/IBM mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot. It won the Business Book of the Year award at the 2004 Frankfurt Book Fair, and according to Die Zeit, was read and "mentioned again and again in conversation" by Angela Merkel after the 2008 crash. He has been a member or rapporteur of numerous European Commission expert groups, currently including the Foresight Expert Group of the EU's agricultural research steering committee. He was from 2018 to 2021 an honorary professor at University College London's Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy. He is a graduate of Harvard College and a former Knight Fellow at MIT.
