Good design begins with place and context. Each place has a history built upon the life that has belonged there. Place is shaped by the elements and the life experience particular to that place. Each pattern, texture, flow, shadow, edge and contour mark this life of place. Good design begins with understanding the nature of place... Context is about place and intention. It is the meeting between what is already in a place and what we wish to add or bring to that place. Our intention is our brief for what we desire to come into being in this place. Our brief will contain all the elements required to create a new form, such as budget; functionality; aesthetics; planning and building regulations. Context is also about our hopes and our dreams.
