Aminatou Bah-Hamzaoui

Colin Shinners - Managing Director

Colin is a Managing Director at Vanbarton Group where he manages the firms West Coast office in San Francisco. In that role, he oversees the West Coast business unit operations including the acquisition, asset management, and property management of Vanbarton's office, multifamily, and retail portfolio across Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Colin relocated to San Francisco from New York City in 2016 to open the San Francisco office and launch the Vanbarton Services property management platform and has since grown the team from two to ten professionals. Prior to joining Vanbarton Group in 2014, he served as a Vice President of Asset Management at Gaia Real Estate, a multifamily focused real estate private equity company, where he oversaw the asset management of a national multifamily portfolio. He also was a Senior Associate in the real estate and construction audit practice of KPMG LLP. Colin received his B.A. in Accounting from Binghamton University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Colin serves on the board of directors for BOMA San Francisco and is its current President. He is also a licensed real estate broker in California.

Damiano Buffa - CFO

Damiano is the Chief Financial Officer of Vanbarton Group where he is responsible for all corporate and investor accounting, reporting, finance, and treasury functions as well as the management of accounting personnel. Damiano joined Vanbarton from Blackstone, where he oversaw accounting, financial reporting, and investor reporting for the Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies group. He also led the corporate finance function for the firm's international subsidiaries operating primarily in the European and Asia Pacific regions out of London. Prior to his tenure at Blackstone, Damiano worked in Corporate Finance and Leveraged Investments at Credit Suisse. He also worked in Public Accounting providing auditing, accounting, and consulting services, primarily to real estate investment companies. Damiano received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Hofstra University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Deanna Walaszek

Gary M. Tischler - CEO, Founder

Gary is a Founder and Managing Partner of Vanbarton Group. He has been involved in all of the Firm's investments and activities since its inception in 1992, initially serving as outside legal counsel to the Firm and later joining as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer in 1995. Gary played a key role in the Firm's early acquisitions of complex distressed debt portfolios and equity positions, enabling the Firm to acquire interests in over 300 properties during its first decade of operations. He also played a key role in initiating the Firm's East Coast lending platform, later expanding Vanbarton's credit investment and origination activities to include new product lines and an extended geographic footprint beyond the East Coast to gateway markets across the U.S. Gary has diverse expertise in all areas of commercial real estate, particularly in structured finance, distressed transactions, creative joint venture and inter-creditor arrangements, real estate related workouts, and restructurings. He serves a leading role in developing the Firm's investment strategy, as well as sourcing and structuring acquisition and credit-related opportunities, and developing and maintaining new and existing client and capital partner relationships. Gary is a member of Vanbarton Group's Management Committee, Investment Committee, Portfolio Strategy and Valuations Committee, and the Investment Strategy Committee. Katie Maleszewski

Sean's core competencies include leasing, acquisition due diligence, portfolio management, asset management, and property dispositions. From 2012 to 2018, Sean was a key member of the asset management team for three healthcare REITs sponsored by AR Global Investments, LLC (fka American Realty Capital). In his role as Senior Vice President at AR Global, Sean oversaw the creation and execution of business plans for all medical office assets, negotiated hundreds of leases and renewals, oversaw all major capital improvements, and was highly involved in the portfolio sale of the company's first healthcare REIT to Ventas, Inc. Prior to joining AR Global, Sean served as Regional Vice President of Asset Management for Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (HTA) where he oversaw the leasing and management of over 1.4 million square feet of medical office properties with over 500 tenants. During his tenure at HTA, the company was one of the most active buyers of medical office properties in the United States. Prior to joining HTA, Sean served as Director of Portfolio Management and Real Estate for Cole Real Estate Investments. While at Cole, he was highly involved in developing the company's due diligence procedures, portfolio management systems, and helped the company grow its real estate portfolio from less than $75 million to over $2.0 billion of assets under management. Prior to Cole, Sean served as an Assistant Vice President for Lowe Enterprises, Inc., a leading national pension advisor, where he oversaw the leasing and asset management of the company's Arizona portfolio of office and medical office properties. Prior to Lowe, Sean was a CPA and Real Estate Consulting Manager with the Phoenix office of Ernst & Young LLP and provided advisory, assurance, and consulting services to lenders, investment banks, developers, REITs, and other property owners. Sean is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Arizona and was formerly a CPA for over 20 years. Steve Leathers

Steve has over 15 years commercial real estate experience that includes acquisitions and dispositions, brokerage, equity placement, debt financing, underwriting, portfolio and asset evaluation, relationship management, and business development. He has represented two nationally focused investment management platforms in the acquisition of $3.2 billion in commercial real estate totaling 12.8 million square feet, of which a majority was healthcare real estate related. Steve served as Managing Director for the Healthcare Capital Markets Group of JLL. He was responsible for business development, transaction oversight and marketing on behalf of healthcare providers, investors, and developers seeking to evaluate, capitalize, purchase, or sell healthcare real estate facilities. From 2014 through 2020, Steve represented numerous healthcare clients on assignments with an aggregate value over $5.6 billion. Steve served as the Vice President of acquisitions of American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust leading this publicly registered real estate investment trust to build a $1.9 billion healthcare real estate portfolio of medical office buildings, hospitals, and senior housing properties that was subsequently sold to Ventas (NYSE: VTR). Prior to joining American Realty Capital, Steve was Vice President for Grubb & Ellis Equity Advisors and its predecessor company, Triple Net Properties, where he directed $1.3 billion in property acquisitions and placed over $1.1 billion of financing and equity investments for affiliated REIT's, institutional joint ventures, and high net worth investors. Steve holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
