CHAMPIONSHIP SPORTS

As expected of a college preparatory school, ACA provides a curriculum that is rigorous, yet attainable: one that prepares a student for continued education beyond ACA. Two Advanced Placement courses are offered for secondary students as well as "Honors" courses such as Pre-Calculus, Physics and Chemistry. Secondary students may also participate in the "dual enrollment" program with Troy University or Wallace Community College. The McMillan / McGraw Hill Math and Science program of instruction is used in grades K-6th. The Pearson Learning "Reading Street Program" is used for the language arts program for grade K4 - 6th grade. K-4th grade students are in self contained classrooms; students in grades 5 and 6 move to a partnered teacher. All classes follow the Alabama State Course of Study for the various levels. These are followed as a minimum, with teachers adding and strengthening the curriculum with approved outside information and programs. Students participate in a foreign language..
