Grayson Perry

Grayson Perry was awarded the Turner Prize in 2003 and is well known for his ceramic works, sculpture and tapestry. He is also known for his Channel 4 series ‘Who are You?'. Arts and Media School's Year 9 students produced an art exhibition based around this topic and the funds raised from the event will provide students with access to high-quality Arts experiences. "Arts & Media School took centre stage when we joined the national debate on the role of the arts in education. We cannot imagine a world where pupils lose their entitlement to be taught mathematics or science, but nationally we allow Arts education to be trimmed almost to nothing. Within our learning community we embrace the Arts as a valuable 5 year entitlement and enrichment to the academic curriculum. The Grayson Perry Lecture affirms our commitment to the debate of Arts education in our schools today."
