Our mission is to advance highly reliable communication-and-reconciliation/resolution programs that meet the needs of patients, families, and providers with integrity after patient harm... The Collaborative for Accountability and Improvement is a network of the healthcare leaders, attorneys, insurers, patient advocates, and researchers who pioneered the earliest CRPs in the United States. It is our belief that CRPs are an essential strategy for preventing unintended patient harm and cultivating high-quality, patient-centered healthcare. We are housed at the University of Washington... In addition to education and training, we are committed to creating policy environments that support CRPs. We help healthcare institutions create and implement model policies to support the CRP process. We educate regulators and licensors on the goals of CRPs and how to create policies that support their spread at the state level.
