Dr. Rashad Smith

Dr. Rashad Smith, PT, DPT is a doctoral-level trained physical therapist who specializes in treating movement dysfunction, musculoskeletal injuries and geriatric patients. His clinical interests include manual therapy, specific therapeutic exercise, sport performance rehab and balance training. Rashad has a strong background in spine and extremity mobilization as well as balance and strength training for the aging patient. At the University of St. Augustine, Rashad completed extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy and continues to pursue manual therapy certification. Beginning in the field of physical therapy in 2009 Rashad has worked in several physical therapy settings including Acute hospital, Skilled nursing, Home Health and Outpatient. Prior to moving back to the Jackson and Canton area, Rashad practiced at Rush Foundation Hospital for 2 years (2009-2011) and managed their affiliate out-patient and swing-bed physical therapy department for 3 years (2011-2014) at Laird Hospital in Union, MS. Rashad has worked with a wide variety of individuals ranging from pediatrics (ages 3-17) up to the geriatric population (ages 65 and over). Rashad is an ex collegiate athlete and has had the privilege of training many competitive high school and collegiate athletes including baseball, football, and soccer.
