Alastair Mortensen

Alastair joined the firm in 2017 after returning to New Zealand after three years living and working in the UK. Alastair graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Economics) in 2011. After admittance to the bar, Alastair worked in a managerial role and as in-house Council within the construction industry. During his time in the UK he worked for a west-London main contractor. Alastair's experience within property is impressive. He has worked on both sides of the industry and brings this unique skill set to Henley-Smith Law. While specialising in property law, Alastair also works in relationship property matters and trusts. Alastair is a local to the area and a keen member of Titirangi Golf Club.

Mark Henley-Smith

Mark has over 30 years experience in legal practice and is a born and bred West Aucklander, currently living in Glen Eden. Mark began his schooling at Henderson North Primary School and Henderson Intermediate School before attending Auckland Grammar School. He then went on to study law at The University of Auckland, culminating in his admission to the bar in 1984. Mark is a sports lover, having represented Auckland in Rugby and Athletics and believes his sporting interests are a great asset in the legal world where quick thinking and determination are key to achieving successful outcomes. Mark is also a passionate tennis player and golfer and is often ‘at a court or on a course.'

Ruth Repoama

Mark is supported by his superstar legal secretary, Ruth, who has over 15 years experience in the legal industry and joined the firm in 2009. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys playing social netball and competing in waka ama competitions as well as spending time with her young family and visiting extended family in the Cook Islands.
