Jamie Ostdiek

Jamie Ostdiek grew up in Nebraska where she completed her undergraduate degree and training as a Physician Assistant in 1992. She then moved to Phoenix for her first job in family medicine. From 1994 to 1997, she worked at St. Louis University in the Department of Preventive Cardiology where she implemented clinical trials for new medications to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol. She returned to primary care medicine while living in Las Vegas, Nevada for a few years and then happily returned to Phoenix in 2000.

Sharon Pfeifer

Sharon Pfeifer was born and raised in the Phoenix area. She became a Registered Nurse in 1984. She completed her graduate education and nurse practitioner preparation at Arizona State University in 1997, and has worked in Pediatric Cardiology since. Sharon is a Fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She actively participates in the education of nurse practitioner students and is a guest faculty member at ASU and the University of Phoenix. Sharon's area of special interest in Pediatric Cardiology includes pacemaker evaluation, Coumadin management, and care of patients with advanced heart failure. Sharon has a passion for patient and family education, and has developed many educational tools for families. Sharon Pfeiffer's research has primarily been focused on medication management in high-risk populations. She has presented her research in Pediatric Cardiology at National meetings. Sharon is an active volunteer for Children's causes. Her "other job" outside Pediatric Cardiac Care of Arizona is as Director of the Nick and Kelly Children's Heart Camp. This annual camp provides a medically-supervised 5-day experience for kids and teens with heart problems (congenital heart disease). She also volunteers for her local Girl Scout neighborhood.
