SECURE and APRIL ITN will be jointly organizing a workshop on personal robotics and secure human-robot collaboration as part of the IEEE ICDL-EPIROB conference taking place in Oslo, Norway, August 19-22 2019... This workshop will focus on learning and interaction-based approaches to safe human-robot collaboration and their application to personal robotics. The workshop will include research topics like: developmental approaches to robot learning, safe interaction in uncertain environments, affect and emotion modelling for safe human-robot interaction, language and non-verbal communication etc... The majority of existing robots in industry are pre-programmed robots working in safety zones, with visual or auditory warning signals and little concept of intelligent safety awareness necessary for dynamic and unpredictable human or domestic environments.
