Randall Markarian was born and raised in Granite City, Illinois. Dr. Markarian graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 1988. He then went to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and received his D.M.D. degree. He attended St. Louis University to specialize in orthodontics. Dr. Markarian completed the two year program and was awarded a M.S. in Orthodontics. After completing this training, he opened his own office at its current location in Swansea, IL. Dr. Markarian has expanded and also has an office in O'Fallon, IL. Dr. Markarian is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
On the personal side, he is married to Annette and they have three beautiful daughters, Grace, Gabrielle, and Gillian. Randall engages in many activities outside the office. He is an avid skier that never passes on the opportunity to head to Colorado to enjoy the mountains. Dr. Markarian also enjoys watching and participating in various forms of motor sports. He also likes to play guitar and has performed locally throughout the years.
Dr. Markarian is also active in giving his time and support to many worthy causes in the area. He is one of the top providers in the country for the Smiles Change Lives charitable organization. Dr. Markarian is also involved with the Illinois Mission of Mercy which provides over $1,000,000 of free dental care to patients and is held every two years in various locations throughout the state of Illinois. He is also very active in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS). Dr. Markarian was president of Illinois State Dental Society and is currently involved in the AAO's Council on Orthodontic Healthcare and is the former Chair for the ADA's Council on Dental Benefit Programs.
